miranda An Explanation - Subscribe

I just realised that my last entry was kinda random and that I should probably explain.

A) Nathan believes he is not ticklish and would like you to believe the same. This however is a BLATANT LIE! Nathan IS ticklish. However you should not tickle his feet unless you wish to wind up bleeding.

B) Meg is Nathan's girlfriend. She has just ordered a new computer which will be delivered to his house to be picked up when she is visiting in April. (This is convieniently in time for her to go to a LAN with us w0oT!) However, she also does not want Nath to play with her comp before she arrives, as she wants to "pop its cherry" tounge.gif We are fairly sure that Nathan will respect this... there is a certain "thing" about playing with your comp for the first time... however we are not taking any chances, thus I will be forced to tie Nathan down when the computer arrives, and not release him until Meg is here.

C) Lick? Nose? What? See point B. Girlfriend. I'm not sure either, but Meg requested it.

And now you all know why I must unleash some mild S&M hell on Nathan. grin.gif

miranda February update Mar 9th, 2006 4:10:53 am - Subscribe
Well... what a bust! I hardly talked to Nathan the entire month of February. So the Month of Nathan was a bust.

Anyhows, seeing as I interrupted my regular programming to tell you all about Nathan, there's a few things we missed:

I LOST MY ^^%$^%$@^ job! So now I am back to square ^%$#*%@% one, trying to get another placement. Basically it was my last review and they decided not to keep me on, which is shit. However, I am in the process of looking for a TAFE placement instead of work, so I can get some qualifications under my ass. So yay for that! happy.gif

RIP to Squishy, Elton, Veronica and Mr T... four of my mice. Squishy and Elton both got sick very suddenly, and Mr T got eaten. I was fairly sure that it was Veronica (aka Cannibal Mouse... see an earlier post) who was responsible... however the next day imagine my surprise when I noticed VERONICA herself had been killed by the others. cry.gif

I am not sure what is going on with that, as there is plenty of food, and the three mice in that cage, Maynard, Ella and Daisy are all fine now.

However due to the grossness of Mr T and Veronica, I put them in the bin, and I am now fighting with myself not to pull them out and bury them properly like I did for Elton and Squishy. I actually feel bad about it. I think when I am done with this post, I will go and bury them in the vacant block next door near to Elton and Squishy.

I am thinking about trying to convince Ryan to let me get more mice, however I doubt I will win... he thought that the 11 that we had (now 7) was too many as it was.

What else? Valentines day... happy.gif Nothing too special, as Ryan was broke as was I, however we both managed to do something nice. I put a note on his steering wheel so that he found it on the morning before he went to work, and brought him his first ever rose. I have since stuck some of the petals and the tag from the rose in a scrapbook for him, which I started making in June-ish last year, which is basically a bunch of random sappyness that he seems to like and keeps me busy.

Oh, and Ryan sent me an e-card, which is a whole lot sweeter than it sounds. It was a song by this musical comedian we love Stephen Lynch, and although an e-card is so generic, he would have actually have had to look for it (as it wasn't a main e-card site) and fid one that suited me, so the thought was very much there all the same.

Oh, time to turn over and watch random crappy children's shows. A) There's nothign else on and b) I have this show... I affectionately call it the Acid Trip Show. It's actually called BeeBah, or BooBah and there are 5 little funny blobby things... pumbah, zumbah, jumbah, jimbah and zing zang zingbah which dance around a lot and make a strange farting noise when they move and sleep in seed pods. They also have no hair, and lighting up eyebrows and giant mechnical eyes which sound like crickets chirping when they move. It's really strange, and the "brother and sister" in the show are obviously NOT, try Asian and Greek... and there are all these rainbows and colours bubbles and this ominous child's laugh all over the place. It's fantastic!

Anyways, best be off and watch my show... happy.gif Cheers!

So.... what can you expect in this upcoming Month of Nath (or in some other language I just made up Monta dela Nath)?

Basically a whole bunch of posts about how awesome and wonderful my buddy Nathan is... he gets mentioned so often in my blog I feel that I should make a "Month" for Nathan where my posts are about our latest adventures! grin.gif

Hi everyone! Just thought I'd say hello and let you know what is going on in the world of me!

Well... ok... not that you want to know this but... MY BOOBS ARE HUGE! Lol, it's all coz I went on the pill, and as a result of the hormones, I have acheived my ideal C-cups happy.gif I am extremely proud of my new boobs.

I am still at Medibank, and totally over it. The customers lately have been such freaking retards! I am betting it was the Friday the 13th combined with the full moon on Sunday.

Right now I am explaining the merits of tampons to Nathan... why is it we always end up talking about something genitalia related?

How bloody hot has it been lately too? Seriously... I swear it was like 45 degrees on the weekend! I spent all of it in little shorts and a tshirt and what do i have to show for it? Not even a HINT of a tan!! Al I want to do is get some colour up again! After the liver bugs last year, my skin tone dropped to pasty, and now I'm trying to get back the olivey tan that I'm used to... and NOTHING. Buggered if I'm paying for a fake tan either.

I'm sure there's soemthing else I want to say too... yeah... I LOVE FUNGUS!! heheh <3 how emo is that? The little <3 thing I mean.

We've been together for 8 months now.... almost 8.5 really. WOW! We're starting to look for our own place with a friend, Matt too. It's weird... I seem to remember saying that I wasn't going to move in with another guy for a while, and yet I've lived with Fungus at his mum's for damn near 6 months...

Oh yes, January birthdays...

4th - Cam, grow up you feral little bastard, try acting 15 first... that's how old you are

11th - Alicia, hope you enjoyed the cheesecake just for you!

13th - Bobbit loved your birthday shoes darlin!

15th - Tranny, hope you had fun up in Sydney and get a BIG shiny engagment ring outta him too!

16th - Julia, you got my card happy.gif

19th - Alastair.... legal at last!

KK. time to sign off and go to bed.

miranda 2005 recap.. Jan 1st, 2006 10:23:38 am - Subscribe

I saw this on another blog I read (it's password protected so will not post the URL) and decided to share my responses with you.

What did you do in 2005 that you've never done before?
Got a job! A real, full-time job!

Did you keep your New Years' resolutions and will you make more for next year?
I don't make them because I don't keep (or remember) them!

Did anyone close to you die?
Yes, my GP who delivered me almost 20 years ago. Rest in Peace Dr Fennesy.

What countries did you visit?
Australia, Australia... and ummm... Australia.

What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
A place of my own and a healthier savings account.

What date from 2005 will remain etched in your memory and why?

Can't remember the exact date, however the day I finally broke up with Chris. I've never felt so sad and happy at the same time. Moving on and leaving my past behind... for the better.

March 14 2005 - the NIGHTWISH concert, my first live rock concert ever! Followed by an incredibly erotic dream starring Nathan/Fungus (I'm not sure... only remember the guy's bodyshapy and it was kinda like both of them tallish and kinda beefy.)

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting a job, and falling in love with my darling Fungus!

What was your biggest failure?
Losing the job at the telemarketing place.

Did you suffer illness or injury?
Legbruise!!! Otherwise no major illnesses, just a random OMG??? Pregnant??? week.

What was the best thing you bought?
Ryan's fantastic Christmas present, a dragon bottle holder (VERY goth) the look on his face when it opened it was priceless.

Where did most of your money go?
Rent, and travel to/from work.

What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The new job, realising... after fighting with my feelings for Ryan that I could actually be with him.

Compared to this time last year are you:

a. Happier or sadder?
Generally happier, things with Chris were starting to get shit at the end of 04.

b. Richer or poorer?
Richer I guess. I have a job now!

What do you wish you'd done more of?
Sleeping, falling in love with Ryan earlier.

What do you wish you'd done less of?
Trying to save an already ruined relationship with Chris.

How did you spend Christmas?
With my family, and also with Ryan's (extended and immediate)

Did you fall in love in 2005?
Yes, very much so. With Ryan/Fungus!

What was your favorite TV show?
tough... Numb3rs, Medium and NCIS topped the list! (I know NCIS is older, cept I only just discovered it)

What was the best book you read?
Hmmm…not sure. None really stands out.

What was your greatest musical discovery of 2005?
REDRUM! (Not technically a 2005 discovery, but I have really started to appreciate them!) www.mp3.com.au/red-rum

What did you want and get?
My life back, and a new and happy relationship.

What did you want and not get?
Nothing that comes to mind

What was your favorite film this year?
Again tough! Harry Potter, Narnia, Madagascar all come to mind... I'm sure there were more!

What did you do on your birthday?
Started work in the first telemarketing place and reconciled successfully (for the last time) with Chris, and generally had an otherwise ordinary day.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Realising what I wanted/needed a lot sooner.

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
My own... occasional hints of goth, and hippie, also generally fairly smart and 'dressy' looking. Also still slightly preppy and girlie.

What kept you sane?
???? Me SANE??? HAHAHHAHHAH!

What political issue stirred you the most?
Meah... politics suck

Who did you miss?
No one in particular...

Who was the best new person you met?
Ryan's fantastic family!

Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Damn..... too many!

Enjoy.... happy.gif

Never Sit on an old rusty bonnet and then fail to see the sticking out metal while sliding off the bonnet. You will scratch your leg and need a tetanus shot. (See previous post)

Never Drink 3 Bundys* on an empty stomach, even if you can usually drink more than that. You will end up throwing the whole sticky lot up later.

Never Do aforementioned drinking the day before you need to to work. You wind up feeling VERY shitty. Especially with an 8am start.

Never Wear a halter-neck top/bra with a bad neck. You will inevitably have to change... no matter how hot your new top is.

Never Open a new window with the intention of finding out about Kerry Packer being dead, and then fail to use said new window to do so. You will lose your whole previously typed blog and have to start again.

Sooo.... with my beefcake new computer (which runs absolutely fantastically, and has only ever had one program crash once and that was coz I stuffed up) Fungus, Angel, Nathan, Jay Aday, Laura (with their respective machines) and I went to Ballarat for a LAN. I have told you what a LAN is before... read higher up in my blog for that.

Anyhow.... 3 days, 2 nights and not much sleep later... I am back.... I have copious amounts of Hentai (weird Anime Japanese pr0n, don't ask) and a bruise on my leg....

That all started by sitting on Kyzen's car bonnet.... fine... cept there was this old piece of metal that was sticking out, which I didn't notice and caught my leg on.... the result, a scratch which stung like FUCK in the shower, and now a JUICY bruise.... man it's a pearler, all red and purple and black and yellow.... what a doozy!

I am very proud of my leg bruise, have even gone to the extent of putting it as my MSN pic (which means I took a photo of it!) and sending it to my mates for close ups!

However, the rusty old metal meant I needed a tetanus shot, and now my arm feels like I have been shot with a spud gun every time I move.

I am still proud of my leg bruise though! happy.gif

miranda A Forced Entry :P Oct 21st, 2005 1:29:32 am - Subscribe

Nathan has convinced me to write an entry today. How that bastard convinces me to do just about anything I dunno.

Actually one thing he couldn't convince me of was the rides at the Melbourne Show! He did try, I'll give him that, but nothing was gonna make me go on ANY of those freaking things.

Where was I? Right! I'm on a sick day from work today, because of this freaking hayfever, which turned into a cold. I'm ALLERGIC TO SPRING!

See, the other night I went to Nathan's to celebrate our two-year anniversary*! (Love ya oh awesome one**) and fungus decided to come pick me up. That was fine... until he locked the keys in the car!

We all had a go at using a coathanger to get in, and I got wet cos it was raining, which led to my cold. It took about an hour, and calling one of our RACV mates before we could get in said car.

I dunno where I am going with this.

Right now I am dicussing sex with Nathan again. Our relationship thrives on innuendo, and pushing things to see who will back down first... we've never talked about that but I'm sure that a subconscious part of it for both of us.

Meh... I am tired.

Oh Yeah, HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR OCTOBER TO:

18th: Andrew Isaac, haven't seen ya in ages, but love ya all the same

19th: Dylan, 21 you old fart!

20/21st (I forgot): Ben, see you in a coupla weeks!

Alright that's enough for me...

miranda Random tantrum Oct 3rd, 2005 11:20:40 am - Subscribe

Hmm... nothing new to report really. Been busy at work most of last week, still training but I actually start taking calls tomorrow... omigod... random nervous excitement!

Chucked a tantrum on Saturday night too... poor Fungus. sad.gif One of those moods where nothing anyone says will please me, insteads just lands them further in the shit.

Long story short... we were supposed to be going up to see my Grandma (Noni) Aunt (Ab) Uncle (Pete) and my cousins (Phee, Boo and Gus) on Sunday arvo. Seeing as I wanted Fungus to come meet them all, we were going to borrow his dads car to drive up there, coz he an I wouldn't have fitted in my dad's car with the rest of the family.

Anyhoo... Ryan's dad said no, so Fungus decided he wasn't coming. There was a Plan B to this, catch the train up, which I thought Fungus was going to do if he couldn't get the car. Turns out I misunderstood him bigtime, and he WASN'T catching the train, he was only going (and cancelling previous plans) if he could get the car. So.. I cracked it because he wasn't going.

Then I cracked it because he kept saying sorry, and if he really was sorry, he would be catching the train with me.

Then I cracked it because he obviously DIDN'T want to go.

Then he agreed to go (whatever he was planning to do got cancelled)

Then I cracked it because he was only going because he felt guilty, and was doing it to please me.

Sheesh! I am a bitch eh? (Yes... you can blame this on random hormones... sometimes I hate being a girl*)

Anyway, after he said he would come, and I had my "I don't want you coming if you don't want to" rant, he went up the street, (good move, we both needed a bit of cooling off space) and came back with Hungry Jacks for me happy.gif my favourite burger, Whopper with cheese minus pickle and onion.

I calmed down a lot after that, and we got things sorted out. It's not that he totally didn't want to go, just he wasn't looking forward to 2 hours on the train, and hanging out with my family all day seeing as he'd never met them before.

So... we went and saw them all! Ab picked us up from the station, and after the initial hugs and hellos we sat down to lunch. Fungus mostly hung out with my brother, and the two of them played guitar for a bit to show Boo (who was HUGELY impressed) while Phee, her friend Jemima and I hung out with the new horse. (My aunt got a new Horse - Harley on Saturday)

Muchness of fun was had by all happy.gif The moral to this story...? I dunno.

I was bitching to Nathan about all of this on MSN pretty much while it was happening, and when I told him that it was good that Fungus had gone up the shops, he asked us if we'd fought...

Silly, silly boy! tounge.gif He should know that if Fungus and I fight, the people of umm... Uzbekistan? (where is the exact opposite to Melbourne, Australia?) would hear it live in stereo. We are both extremely volatile people, with decent lungs, and once we start shouting, it's all on. We've never actually fought, but if we do... watch out.

There's nothing else really new to report. I'm pretty damn tired so I'm heading off to bed.

Night!
Miranda

* I don't like blaming random mood swings on PMS or having my period, I feel way too many chicks use it as an excuse to be a bitch** however, this particular mood was totally uncontrollable, and period-related

** I understand that some chicks do truly get mood swings and emotionally fragile due to hormones, however I have also met girls who crack the shits because they feel like it and blame it on hormones, when in truth it's got nothing to do with that, just them being bitchy (and giving females in a bad rep when it comes to being female!)

miranda Work Update Sep 29th, 2005 10:37:01 am - Subscribe

Hi guys!

It's about time I updated my blog, seeing as I've been working for 4 days now, and I told you I'd let you all know how I went.

Wow.... where to begin though? There's so much to tell! I've been training for the last few days, and will continue to do so until Monday/Tuesday after that I will be on the phones for 3 weeks. I'll then do another week or so of training then 3 weeks of calls, then another week of training, and then on the phones full time! It's a staggered process, so that I don't have to remember everything at once and start taking the hardest calls immediately.

*yawn* It's an early-ish start for me. 6.30 isn't bad, but when I prefer 9-12 hours sleep, I can't handle it! LOL.

The people there are really great though happy.gif Everyone in the training group is pretty nice... older than me by a minimum of 3 years, but nice. We're going out to the pub next weekend.

There's so much to learn too. How to make the computers work, phone ettiqute, the right way to quote people claims, where to find the info... everything. We don't have to remember it all off the top of our heads, there's a mentor line (which is basically the Call Centre's helpdesk) which answer event he most inane questions. The support there is really ace.

Another great thing is the CAFE! Oh yes... a Medibank Cafe... it's really nice and healthy food, today's meal was raost turkey, taters and pumpkin, with other green veggies... a GIANT dinner-plate for $6! Filling, healthy food, at like 1/2 cafe prices. And you don't have to eat their food to sit up there. You're welcome to bring your own and sit with your mates.

Plus I have my own desk at work... or I will once I'm in the actual call centre, so I can have photos of my own or whatever.

The only suck thing is the dress code. It is nice. Sneakers = no way. Jeans = only on Fridays. sad.gif Plus there's an unspoken bra/make up policy. DAMN HELL ASS! I have to buy more makeup now, but with this nice paycheck I will be getting all should be good.

WOW! Nickers is on the phone to Fungus... no swearing/shouting or other insanities. She was sposed to tlak to me, but he answered.... meh. OKay, he's handing over now.

miranda Job Interview Sep 21st, 2005 1:22:12 am - Subscribe

Hi All!

Just a quick update to let you know why I've not been on much. I have a job interview today! It's a second round interview for a Private Health system, which means I did ace at the first one on Friday.

It's in an inbound call centre, which I can definitely deal with, and work starts on Monday, temporary with veiw to permanency, $19.50 ph with Super. I'm not sure if the $19.50 is plus super, or including super, but I'm not complaining either way. I've never had a job that pays me this much before.

The interview is actually with Medibank this time, instead of just with the recruitment company, and it includes a PSYCHIATRIC ASSESMENT! tounge.gif LOL, I guess it's to check that I won't totally lose my cool with difficult customers, or stalk them or something. Either that or if they ring up ot tell me thier significant other has died I won't burst into laughter.

Either way, I'm looking forward to it. I should do well, as the other part is a group activity, mostly to see how I get on with people. I think it means I've basically got the job already, they're just double-checking that I'm not too agressive and shout in people's faces, and also that I'm not a total doormat, that I put in and use initiative, and let others have their say too. It's also to check group dynamics, to roster effective shifts apprently.

I get to meet the people I'll be working with for the test beforehand too, which is great, means I won't totally pull into my shell, like I tend to do first time meeting new people.

It can't be a harder job than my last place, at least the people need to call me for this instead of me harassing them! I also get to help them with choosing the best option for them, which aparently is something I am good at.

Full training is also provided, which - unlike my last job - means I won't have to totally wing it. That really pissed me off. Given a sheet with the script, half an hour to think through it, and listen to other callers do their bit, and then stuck on the phones.

And as I mentioned before, the customers will want, or at least need to speak with me.

The interview on Friday was pretty basic too. Just a typing speed test. (I clocked nearly double their requested speed, 30wpm, I did 58 with 95% Accuracy!) and a test on how well I know Microsoft Word and Outlook. I did pretty well (75% and 80% respectively) considering that it was a version of Word I have never seen/used before, I think it was ME or NT. And I've only previously used O'Look Express. Outlook has a whole calendar/diary function as well as the Email, and is used in networks/offices for planning meetings etc. Express is only an email service.

There was a Role Play on Friday too, actually on the phone, using a mock-up of the database I will be using. I did pretty well, seeing as I was using the database for the first time too. I only made on mistake, and that is something I will be trained for anyhow. It's not a big deal, and they were very happy with how I went as it was.

Anyways, I have to leave in just over half an hour, and although I'm already dressed, I want to grab some food and do a few other things before I go.

I'll let you know how it goes when I hear from them!
