52updos 16. Four strand braid - Subscribe
Yeah, finally something new in here!

I have managed to make the four strand braid in my hair, using instructions found on the LHC forums and adjusting the starting point to avoid an ugly part on my head.

Part your hair into four strands, which are far left, middle left, middle right, far right. The order is simple:

1. Middle left over middle right.
2. Far right over middle right.
3. Far left under middle left.
Repeat as far as you can go, then tie off.

The trick is to hold the far left and far right strands with your ring finger, and the middle ones with your middle finger. Now you have the index fingers free to grab the crossing strands.

Here is what this looks like on me:

I have managed to make the five strand braid in my hair, using instructions found on the LHC forums.

Part your hair into five strands, holding the outer strands with your pinky, and move your way in. Then the order again is simple:

1. Weave left under, over
2. Weave right under, over
Repeat as far as you can go, then tie off.

Make sure to hold the strands with the fingers designated so you don't get confused, and it will keep the index fingers free for grabbing the strands out of the other finger's grip. As with anything, practice makes perfect

Here is what this looks like on me, my second attempt:

If you have very long hair, this one updo is a nice thing to know how to do.

Make a low ponytail, hold it with your right hand. With the left hand put two fingers on the base, grabbing it and roll it around at least once, making a loop. Make sure to not loosen this loop. This is the base of your roll.

With the right hand start twisting the length around the base, starting where your left hand fingers are, and working your way down to your head. This will cover the base you just made. Secure the ends between the roll and your head.

Wiggle your fingers out of the loop and press the roll against your head. Secure with a hair toy of choice.

This is what it looks like for me with a hairfork, from the back:

Don't mind that loose lock there, normally you shouldn't get that. The reason why I have that going on can be found in my regular blog.

For those needing a video, I have two.

1) Medium length hair
2) Very long hair

Good luck!
