aeonity Aeonity Hardware Failure - Subscribe
Our Servers Hard drive Failed
PLEASE REPORT ALL BUGS HERE

Recently our servers hard drive failed on Aeonity January 13th 2006, but luckily we backed up our database on January 3rd of 2006.

Basically what this means is that 10 Days of blogging information is gone, along with other various content areas. Jim and I will be addressing this issue on Monday with our hosting company, and hopefully that can some how get compensated.

Right now its 3:18 AM CST and Aeonity is missing various areas on the website. If you notice any errors, please post them here.

This content is in reference to our Hardware Failure that we receieved on January 13, 2006. Yes, Friday the 13th. We know. happy.gif

We wanted to give you guys a little update on whats going on around here. Aside from fixing errors that were around the site, we are trying to recover / recreate content & data from the following areas on Aeonity:

  • Aeonity Articles
  • Aeonity Games
  • Aeontiy Soundboards
  • Aeonity Video

    We are doing so to prevent to many 404 errors on the site. If you notice any be sure to let know.

    A Quick Reminder
    If you have not done so already please update your avatars in your User Control Panel. Do not mind the error if one appears. To fix it simply remove the broken avatar from Aeonity, and replace it with a new one. Jim is working on a mass avatar fix for all of the community in regards to this issue.

    This article is in reference to our Harddrive Failure on January 13th 2006

    Guess what guys for the past week we have been recovering our old article, soundboard, games, directory, and even blog content! Cool huh, and too think I never we thought to announce it.

    Well this can be done with Google Cache!

  • To get started simply go to Google.

  • Once you are there type in your blogs url into google.
    http://www.aeonity.com/david

  • Once that is done click on the link that looks like this:
    Show Google's cache of www.aeonity.com/david

    Thats it! From their you can simply copy and paste all your old blogs back to Aeonity. If you guys need help add your questions here.

    Mail ProblemsLast night around 1:30 AM CST we recieved a mass load of emails being sent out from our server to our members inbox's. First off we would like to apologize for the problem, and for sending you guys a great amount of email.

    We are (awake) working on the problem, so that we can prevent this type of situation from happening again. We recommend to all users to delete these emails for they are simply repeats of the last user that commented on your blog. Here is an example of what was sent out.

    On the brighter side of the news, here is a way to Recover your Old Blog Content from the Harddrive failure on Jauary 13th 2006.
