Welcome to Faits Divers, a blog intended to fill the gaps in your knowledge of off-beat and frankly oddball Belgian news stories.

Too often, the international press is unable to find the space required to cover these issues as fully as they deserve.

Too often, even The Bulletin, Brussels' English-language weekly, for whom I gather and write the Week in Brief material, finds itself short of sufficient space.

Which brings us here. If it's worth reading about, you'll find it somewhere else. If it's one of those stories that after you've read it you wonder how you'd ever have made it through the day otherwise, this is where you'll find it.

I'll update as often as there's a pressing need.
