I've never considered myself that pretty but I thought that maybe my compassion and sincerity would compensate for my lack of beauty. That's always been my beacon of hope that's kept me worry free, but it's a pretty devastating blow to my self-esteem when a stranger walking down the hall turns around and says, out loud, "Damn, she's kinda ugly!" So much for 'inner beauty surpasses all.'

What a jerk. I heard someone say that to another person today while I was working, and I was offended. And the person they were talking about coudn't hear, but still.

People suck. They don't know you (neither do I though) but you can't take people like that to heart. As long as you know that you have inner beauty and compassion you will be just fine. There are people that see the inner beauty just flowing through someone and find that way more attractive.
Anyways, who needs the opinions of a jerk like that. Not you. |

Oh goodness! I hate that that happened to you! When do people make comments like that though? When they are feeling their low self-esteem rise up!
You can be ugly and feel beautiful - you WILL be beautiful.
You can be beautiful and feel/act ugly - you WILL be ugly.
If you were really ugly, no one would really say, "you're ugly."
Don't worry about that dimwit!
deathcab4u is right...your inner beauty is more attractive than outer beauty.
