There has to be a simple basis for editing these templates because everybody is doing it except for me ..haha
Would greatly appreciate any help that you all could give me on this one.

With my template that is. I want to customize it like I see everybody else doing, but every time I try to edit the coding to make any serious changes, I get that stupid error page. Not tired yet because I caught a nap earlier this evening. Just got done installing a cool new blog script I found on opensourcecms.com . It's called Simplog and It's really nice and cool! It had one little bug after installing it so I had to go to their support website @ simplog.org and fortunately a few other people were having the exact problem so someone came up with a couple of fixes for it and posted them. I like the blog because it supports multiple users so I will be able to make it a community blog on my Indie band website and everybody that wants to blog on it I will create them a username and password. I will make all their usernames their band name so everybody will know who the heck they are. I was playing around with an install of Nucleus CMS for the last couple of weeks and that is also a really nice blogging script that supports multiple users/multiple blogs. I think I will go with the Simplog for my website though because it is much easier to create new blogs on. You can do it from within the admin cpanel. With Nucleus, you have to create a new blogname.php file for every new blog that you want to create. it's still easy, but hey ... I'm lazy ... what can I say? lol I just took a look at the http://demo.opensourcecms.com/nucleus website and it looks different/ better than the install that my cpanel's fantastico installed on my server. I think I had an older version installed? ... So maybe the Nucleus CMS has improved quite a bit? ... it is opensource too so maybe I will install it on another one of my websites and play around with it a bit? The latest release looks nice! Oh well, I'm gonna' get out of here for a while and go visit some friends on http://www.communities.com It's a pretty cool website, check it our if you get a chance. Good place to make a lot of new friends. |
