In June, I was accepted to Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. I've been here since July. It's where I live.![]() |
The trimester is over and I have a big final tomorrow. I should have taken this opportunity to study but instead I went to the Wellington Zoo with some friends. Even now the minutes are drawing nearer yet I'm sitting here writing this blog about how I went to the zoo instead of studying.![]() ![]()

Well it's over. The final was 3 hours long and I still didn't finish the last essay. It actually wasn't that bad; I'm still glad it's over though. A highlight of the exam was that I got the chance to use the phrase "intellectual masturbation." That was great. In other news, Mallory, another American on exchange here in New Zealand, is leaving tomorrow to go home. I must admit... I am rather jealous. We all went out to dinner for her sendoff - this great Japanese restaurant called Kazu. The food was amazing. The one drawback about not having to tip people here in New Zealand is that the service always sucks. No incentive. I'll miss the old bat.

The other day I went to this great little asian market and bought three avocados for only two dollars. I'm making avocado milkshakes tonight!![]() |

Today I feel vapid and useless. After a lovely evening of binge drinking with other fellow final exam ridden students, I awoke this morning hating life, the world, and all of its passengers. It's now almost 6:30pm and I've yet to do one thing productive other than shower. When the office opens and a few minutes I'll head over there to procure some coveted dryer tokens and perhaps put on a load of laundry. I didn't come to New Zealand to spend entire days in bed. Tomorrow I'm going to get my 'a' into 'g' and accomplish something enriching and meaningful, or so I say now. Although I guess it was a legit cause for celebration. And another plus of the evening was that, thanks to my flatmate Nicole's big shoplifter purse, we have now almost fully restocked or previously exasperated stolen bar glass collection. Go team! |
