I hate people that interrupt me. Hate them, hate them, hate them. I don't care if they're my parents or complete strangers it's just so incredibly rude thing to do. What's even worse is when they interrupt and then apologize and expect you to go on as if nothing had happened. As if they hadn't just been complete and utter asses and cut you off. It's even worse with people I know like my parents who then can't understand why I'm mad that my father interrupted my story to tell mom that bread was on sale so he bought two of them...

I also hate the people who gab and gab and gab and never shut up for two seconds to give someone else a turn to talk before changing the subject to something else. You always end up with one person like this in a group who refuses to shut up and forces everyone else around them to talk over them in order to get their voice heard. So if you're like me and you don't like cutting people off for any reason other then an emergency or because something is important then you don't get to say anything because you can't bring yourself to talk above the crowd like a savage barbarian. This is one of the main reasons I'm so silent in groups. I refuse to talk over everyone else to let my point be heard.

If people want to interrupt me or force me to talk over them then they most likely don't really care what I have to say so why should I bother?

Real Women Have Curves

Tis the battle cry of the new century. Of the movement to free women from the enslavement of the model and high fashion industry. Lets face it everywhere women turn they are faced with commercials, products, and pictures telling them they are less then perfect and need to do this or that to make themselves more attractive and therefor worth more to society. And really what women can can make herself look like this:

Unless she does so naturally or has thousands of dollars for personal trainers and nutritionists to help her out? Fact is the average women will never come anywhere close to looking like that and it can be very disheartening to see that presented as the standered of desired beauty. Poor self image in women is common and really is a problem, but I have to wonder if our current way of dealing with it isn't just as damaging if not more so. This is where I have a problem with the battle cry of "Real women have curves!" comes in.

Basically we're not trying to instill in girls the idea that big is good. Big is natural and is okay and that's fine, but in the same sweep we've started brushing the naturally skinny women aside. We've begun isolating them and looking down on them like they're something disgusting. Take for example how they've now banned models who are to small in size from fashion shows. Okay so we've taken the larger models and made them feel good, but the model that was to skinny to enter now feels bad about herself thinking that there's something wrong with her.

We've gone from one extreme to the other and in the end we're still judging women by the way they look. We're still judging them by something that they only have so much control over. So what would make a real woman?

We've already established that body isn't a good way to do that. Some women are curvy, some are naturally small and skinny. Some are tall, short, fat, thin. We come in all different shapes and sizes.

Attitude and mind aren't something we should look at either when judging a 'real woman'. Variation is the spice of life and again some women are very intellectual some aren't. Some have good common sense some don't. You get the point I'm trying to make.

So what about genitals? Seems like a safe bet. Every woman has a vagina right? Wrong. I don't care if you agree with them or not, but the fact is that there are formal guidelines and actual medical studies done that separate transgendered men from 'normal' men. Look up the damned research yourself though I'm to lazy to find it and this isn't a debate on that. Either way a man can still feel like a woman and who are we to tell them they're not?

If you ask me being a woman is a state of mind. I'm a woman because I feel like a woman. That's how I identify myself, that's how I think of myself, and when I look in a mirror that's how I see myself, and that's all that I need to know. It doesn't matter what type of body, mind, or genitals I or anyone else has. If you feel like it, identify yourself that way, and think of yourself that way then shouldn't that be what makes you a real woman?

So how about we stop trying to put a tag on what makes a woman a woman and start encouraging girls to be proud of what they have? Of who they are regardless of how they look or how their thought process works?

Nothing Really

Just posting this to make sure I don't lose my blog. Not a lot has been happening and while there are a lot of subjects that have been on my mind lately nothing seems like it's important enough to warrant my time. It seems like there are just to many idiots in the world for me to rant about every single one of them. I've almost gotten to the point where I'm welcoming doomsday and praying that all the end of the world crazies are right about the destruction of our civilization. At least trying to survive the end of everything would be an interesting experience.

Don't get me wrong though I don't hate my life nor do I wish to die. That would be the only bad thing about living during the apocalypse. I would just like to see those who aren't deserving of their lives being weeded out for a change instead of accommodated and made to feel special like our society likes to do. It would be nice to see the jerk who makes his waitress's life a living hell be thrown out onto the street instead of coupons being shoved into his fat greedy little hands. Or all the impatient little fuckers who cause traffic accidents because of their own disregard for the others that share the road to be the ones to die instead of the kids in the mini van they hit.

I can see why God is such an improbable entity to believe in and why his followers are so zealous. They have to be. If they were half hearted in the least I can't see any of them getting out of bed in the morning.

New computers are always exciting. I used to have one that was one of these massive gaming computers, but for all the moving around I do and how much I need my computer with me it just wasn't practical. It was hard to take or use anywhere. Now I've bought one of these tiny 12 inch screens to use and it's working out pretty well. It fits nicely in my lap, easy to take around and carry, and other then having to get used to a new key board everything is working out wonderfully. Plus I can keep my mega computer for gaming and maybe remove all the other programs from it. It doesn't work for much else anyway it's gotten to be so junky.

Well anyway just a quick post to try out my new computer and see how it works. I have a few pictures of the cats and my new apartment that I want to eventually put up once I have the time.

Roxie Update

So maybe some of you remember my post about the little kitten Roxie who showed up on our porch one morning after having been run over by a car. She was badly injured with never trauma to her legs as well as a chipped tooth and a bad scrap on her chin. Roxie had fleas, ear mites, coccidia, and congestion in her chest. When I first brought her into my home she was mangy and in great new of medical care.

Now her ears are cleaned out and the mites are dead, she has been bathed and flea free, her coccidia has been treated, she on antibiotics for the congestion, and the scrap on her chest has gotten past its scabbing phase and she's starting to regrow the hair. The tooth is still chipped, but so far there has been no infections or complications. She's clean, vaccinated, and healthy as she could be right now. Yet that's not even the best part.

For those that don't remember or didn't read the nerve trauma to Roxie's leg was bad enough that they were afraid she would end up losing it. Thankfully now she's up and walking on it. She's started putting weight on it and moving it and the Dr. says that there is a very strong chance that she will make a full recovery. Things are looking bright for my little Roxie and I couldn't be happier. Now if we can just get rid of her congestion she'll be up to speed and perfectly healthy.

Roxie is still just a kitten, but already she's had a very hard life. I'm just hoping that soon, once we get everything cleared up, she can find rest and a safe comfortable home here with me and Dahlia.
