So maybe some of you remember my post about the little kitten Roxie who showed up on our porch one morning after having been run over by a car. She was badly injured with never trauma to her legs as well as a chipped tooth and a bad scrap on her chin. Roxie had fleas, ear mites, coccidia, and congestion in her chest. When I first brought her into my home she was mangy and in great new of medical care.
Now her ears are cleaned out and the mites are dead, she has been bathed and flea free, her coccidia has been treated, she on antibiotics for the congestion, and the scrap on her chest has gotten past its scabbing phase and she's starting to regrow the hair. The tooth is still chipped, but so far there has been no infections or complications. She's clean, vaccinated, and healthy as she could be right now. Yet that's not even the best part.
For those that don't remember or didn't read the nerve trauma to Roxie's leg was bad enough that they were afraid she would end up losing it. Thankfully now she's up and walking on it. She's started putting weight on it and moving it and the Dr. says that there is a very strong chance that she will make a full recovery. Things are looking bright for my little Roxie and I couldn't be happier. Now if we can just get rid of her congestion she'll be up to speed and perfectly healthy.
Roxie is still just a kitten, but already she's had a very hard life. I'm just hoping that soon, once we get everything cleared up, she can find rest and a safe comfortable home here with me and Dahlia.
