I\'m Calling For The Assasination of Pat Robertson

Oh My God!!!

Pat Robertson from the 700 club, a well known christian program with millions of “saved” viewers, has called for the ASSASSINATION of Chavez, a communist leader. Why? Because he fears that communism with be imported into America. I hate to tell him but we already have communist here in the states

Jesus said, forgive your enemies and be peace makers.
How does murdering a leader of a foreign country promote peace?

I do not recall any time in the new testament ( a cornerstone of christian belief) where Jesus ever says harm or kill anyone. As a matter of fact, it was people with this kind of righteous thinking (used sarcastically) that crucified Him in the first place.

Paul, an icon of the christian faith, states to “obey the laws of the land“. Give unto Caesar what is Caesars.
How did Pat come to the conclusion that he could dismiss the teachings of Jesus and the apostles? At what point did he determine that he had any authority what so ever to make such a call?

I am outraged, flabbergasted and downright pissed off!

Im not a church goer, left because of thinking similar to this. But I used to preach. I was a ministry leader for years. I ran the entire Sunday school d youth department. But the church became an exclusionary club, a place where people felt like they had all the answers because they “heard from God”. I was chastised severely when I stuck up for the catholics or tried to promote peace among the religious denominations.

Pat, did God give you this message of murder to spread to His flock? Has there been confirmation among your religious peers? Could you please give me the scriptures the Lord directed you to in order to confirm this message?

And one more question. Who made you God?

How to Starve to Death Saving the World

I keep thinking about something. It bothers me a great deal at times. One of my clients, Jay (Name changed so I keep my job cause of confidentiality laws) is an autistic man with other issues, mostly medical. He is in his late forties and spent 90% of his life in an institution. He comes to work five hours mon-fri. During the afternoon, I go to his group home to work with one of his roommates. so I have an idea of what their house and interactions are like while at home.

Jay doesn’t like to chew his food as well as his staff think he should. He has teeth, most of them, is very smart and understands his limits. But his staff will sit at the table with him and actually take his plate away when he is eating. They have slapped his hand and told him to stop being stubborn. At one time they threatened to blend all his food together, including his desert, if he didn’t stop eating so fast.

When Jay comes to work, I don’t say a word to him while he eats his dinner. He is a grown man, he hasn’t choked on food in over six years, and while he is at work, he actually chews his food and takes his time. I think it is because he knows no one will take it from him at work.

So, my question. Why do we insist on treating the disabled as if they are children? How will they experience life to the fullest if we cannot even supply basic dignity?

I work will all levels of autism and disabilities at my job.I have yet to meet another human being who is less of a person than I am. But it doesn’t just happen in group homes. The government even classifies them as second class citizens by cutting the funding, stopping needed services and limiting their medical coverage.

Don’t get me started on seniors…it’s the same crap…

Next time you are at the pump filling your tank, paying nearly 3 bucks a gallon, think about how our government is more interested, more focused on securing that high priced oil than funding medical services for those with a genuine need. If I sound bitter, it is because I am.

Some facts. The average in home care worker (working with seniors) or group home advocates (working in homes with the disabled) earn an average of $13,000 a year.

Last quarter Exxon made 7.5 billion dollars in profit and got a 4.6 billion dollar tax break.

There is a bill currently being lobbied in Oregon to increase my wages by 50 cents an hour. There has been no wage increase in this field for 2.3 years. The bill is being suppressed, sighting funding issues and we may have to settle for a 15 cent an hour wage increase.

medicare will not pay for a shot that you need once a week to keep your red blood cells from dying off. The cost is $180 a week and will save your life. This disease does not just affect the elderly, it carries no age discrimination.

What are we saying to our people? Oil is more valuable than your life? That the disabled have no value and the elderly are going to die anyway?

Bin Laden has not been caught, weapons of mass destruction have not been found, and all our money goes to securing the Bush fortune and making his backwood buddies a little richer.

Meanwhile, those who care about societies forgotten get crap for wages, no health insurance and have to fight big government for a raise.

I don’t know about you all…but doesn’t this seem wrong?

As for Jay…I cant change the way the world thinks. All I can do is treat him with respect and hope to educate the population one person at a time. it’s a big job but damn it, somebody needs to step up and do it.

Did Harry Potter Create Hell?

Okay, so really this is the post that got lost the other day…lol.
I was watching this thing on Harry Potter, the Author, and how she gets hammered by Christian critics, saying she is teaching witchcraft to our impressionable youth.
Can we get real for a minute please?
Lets start with my own experiences. I was involved in a wonderful charismatic church for ten years. I ran the Sunday school, did youth group, was in charge of free lunches for the low income families, prayer night, bible study…the list is endless. I was VERY involved in church.

But I started having problems when the church (ie..the people with an opinion) started saying that reading secular books was bad, secular movies, music, tv, ….anything without a cross on it…was bad. I was feeding my mind with things “of this world”.

I recall reading about the crusades, or the witch trials, or converting heathen native Americans before killing them…all in the Glorious name of Christianity!

When you cocoon yourself in a christian bubble….how on earth can you relate or be compassionate to someone in the real world? Just because we live on this planet and have our lives outside of a church building does not mean we are evil.

I left the church for many reasons. I don’t hate the people, Im even friends with my old pastor and we talk from time to time. He is kind enough not to “win me back” to the Lord. He is just a friendJ

I am now on a journey…finding my own relationship with God…and a funny thing…I see Him in everything now. He is in the teachings of Buddha, in the miracle of my garden, in the cosmic universe lighting stars….He is everywhere.

Okay…this turned out way different than I started out with..Im too…light hearted today to be witty.
My sarcasm will have to wait.
