One of my coworkers in our Houston office is experiencing issues with a Computer that Automatically Restarts. Here is my solution.
Computer Automatically Reboots by Itself
Right click on My Computer and select properties.
Click Advanced tab.
Click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
Under System Failure uncheck Automatically Restart.
Click OK.
This will not solve your problem, but will instead give you a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). At which point Windows will give you a vague error, at which point we can trace your problem. If you still get the system rebooting and there is no BSOD then it's likely that your processor is overheating or your PSU is faulty. Try checking the system health in the BIOS for the processor or system temperature. You'd like it to be less than 50d Celcius, anything over 75d is running dangerous.
Situations like these can be very hard to find the issue. It could be a bad power supply, bad ram, power cord, motherboard, loose screws, or incompatible software.
My recommendation is to backup and start over, or go back. This will save time and $.
If all else fails we can do this, another PC will be need to create this linux CD.

Recently I bought a computer. Intel Core2Quad 2.66 GHz processsor. N-vidia 1GB. RAM :4GB. HDD : 500GB. Samsung 19" TFT monitor. I have installed Windows XP 32bit and F-Secure Antivirus. It is connected to interent through wireless broadband. I work mostly with Autocad, Sketchup and Photoshop. Either sequentially or simultenously. The system is working very fine and I am satisfied with the speed and display of graphics.
For last few days I noticed that my computer is getting hanged/switched off with a message displayed through the infamous blue screen of Windows. It is displaying the following message.
STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of
0xc0000005 (0x00000000 0x00000000)
The system has been shutdown.
Please help me to overcome this problem without formatting the disk and reloading the OS. Looking forward to hear from you soon. Wish you all a very Happy New Year 2010.
