Denzel Washington Donation to Brooks Army Medical Center in San Antonio Texas.

Don't know whether you heard about this but Denzel Washington and his family visited the troops at Brook Army Medical Center, in San Antonio,Texas (BAMC) the other day.

This is where soldiers who have been evacuated from Germany come to be hospitalized in the United States, especially burn victims.

There are some buildings there called Fisher Houses . The Fisher House is a Hotel where soldiers' families can stay, for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying in the Hospital. BAMC has quite a few of these houses on base, but as you can imagine, they are almost filled most of the time.

While Denzel Washington was visiting BAMC, they gave him a tour of one of the Fisher Houses. He asked how much one of them would cost to build.

He took his check book out and wrote a check for the full amount right there on the spot. The soldiers overseas were amazed to hear this story and want to get the word out to the American public, because it warmed their hearts to hear it.

The question I have is why does:

Alec Baldwin, Madonna, Sean Penn and other Hollywood types like Danny Glover with his good buddy Cesar Chavez make front page news with their anti-everything America trash and Denzel Washington's Patriotism doesn't even make page 3 in the Metro section of any newspaper except the Local newspaper in San Antonio.

well said David and I completely agree with you. If you haven't added your post to digg yet, I'll go ahead and digg it. This story needs to get some traction and in front of more eyeballs.

I am an American soldier myself. I am very thankful for Washington doing this and showing his support for those of us who make the sacrafice. HOOAH for Denzel.

Very awesome to see a celebrity's stick up for their beliefs and show support for our soldiers, who provide them with their freedom to act.

Gotta love Denzel, perhaps the best actor of this century hands down.

I am a veteran and I must admit this was a great thing that Denzel has done. But I am disappointed in the author of ths story for lashing out at the other performers mentioned at the bottom of the article. We veterans sacfificed so all American's can have the right to voice thier opinions, whether we agree or not with them. Just because they do not beleive in this war does not equatet o them not supporting our troops. I for one do not beleive in this war, but I do support the troops that are caught up in it. Soldiers are trained to follow orders, but those orders must be lawful, and the orders for this war are extremely questionable.

I currently live in S. Korea and we are bombarded with the likes of Britney, Flava Flav, Rodman, Pitts etc. We are especially bombarded with negative views about African-Americans, being Black I am a little sensitive. As you can imagine. This is an article that I will share with my Korean friends, who by the way, are really very kind people. I am happy that this is a true story. All I can say is go Den Den!

Denzel Washington is an awesome guy but this story is only somewhat true. If you go to the website Snopes dot com and search for Denzel Washington you will find the story and find that it was researched and found to be not totally true. I would type it all out but it would take forever.
