Better Days Well the days are starting to look better. Yestarday I was really tired when I got home and after getting back from a friends house I had a nice dinner made by Lyndsey and we sat and talked at the table. Then I went upstairs and played my game for roughly an hour, but was not able to motivate myself to code. So instead I went in and watched TV with Lyndsey, and after watching to loser fest (the biggest loser) and those jokes called guys crying over voting off that one joker just went to bed at around 9pm. The weird thing was I was still tired this morning but motivated myself enough to drop my truck off at Big-O-Tires (its about a half mile from work and I had to walk to work from there). The walk felt good, other than it was rushed cause I was late for work. Anyhow it feels good to get my truck in the shop and that off my mind and chest. My tires were showing steel and I needed an alignment/oil change. I always liked Big-O-Tires cause of their warranty and free flat repairs etc. They have never treated me wrong or bad. Hopefully today keeps looking up and the past will be put behind me. The future keeps getting brighter each day. |

Tips to Avoid Spyware and Virus's Introduction The past weekend I was working on a friends computer and he wondered how and what I use to avoid getting spyware and virus's. I laughed at the question and while trying to think of the words to explain how I avoid getting spyware and virus's I simply said, "I know what not to download". And as ludicrous as it may sound spyware, 90% of the time is initiated by users. The other 10% is not having up-to-date software, such as Internet Explorer. Which prompted me to write this exert on how to avoid downloading and installing spyware, and virus's on your on computer not knowing, so let's get to it! Pay Attention and Read The biggest problem is that most people do not bother to read the fine print, which is where a lot of companies can get you. Taking the extra 30 seconds to read the fine print can save you hours and hundreds of dollars (which would be spent fixing the computer). First off let's look at a legitimate download, which everyone needs in this day and age, Acrobat Reader. As much as it sucks, Adobe tends to bundle software with their application. Although it is not Spyware, what they bundle will slow down your computer with unnecessary software. The Photo Album is not something everyone needs or wants, especially when for most people the default windows picture viewer is plenty. But yet when you download Adobe Reader, the default check mark is set to download Photo Album with Adobe Reader. Why? Because Adobe knows that most users are not computer savy and will not un-check it thus making their name bigger and make you feel like you NEED Adobe software to do anything. Another company that will bundle software by default is Yahoo!. Anytime you download a game, or software from Yahoo! They bundle their crappy Yahoo! Toolbar. Which I have seen slows systems down up to 30% and most users do not even know how the toolbar came to be on their system. All they had to do was un-check one simple box, which of course is somewhat hidden and not noticeable because Yahoo! Wants you to depend on their software. In the end, companies are deceitful because they want money. Simple as that, so do yourself the favor and read and know what you are installing. It will save you numerous headaches. Keep Windows Up-to-Date As much as I do not like Windows Update (slow, and very inefficient) keeping windows software up-to-date will help you prevent spyware and viruses. Reason being is exploits are found every day in Windows software which could allow someone to inject spyware to your computer through a website, email or another means without you even realizing it. The big one is Internet Explorer, I highly suggest moving over to Firefox. That is my personal preference and have not had one issue with spyware leaking through like I have had with Internet Explorer. Keeping windows up-to-date is key to fighting spyware and viruses especially since there are many people who dislike windows and intentionally try to exploit it to disrupt it's users. Do not download Freeware Freeware online is often times bundled with Spyware galore! If you want to download free software make sure it is from a trusted source, such as Download.com, who regularly checks software on their website for spyware. No matter what avoid downloading any type of screen savers. As cool as some maybe, those .scr files are opening for massive invasion of privacy and attacks. The worst software to download is Screensavers so avoid it at all costs. Again anything you do download be wise and conscious about what the software is and how necessary the software is. Keep Firewalls Active Now a days with Cable and DSL a lot of people have Routers, if you do not I highly suggest getting one, as they come with a Hardware firewall, which ultimately protects you more than any software firewall could even dream about without taking up your computer's resources. A lot of your probably remember a few worms a while back that hit a ton of computers, Code Red I think was a huge one for DSL customers. When this worm hit the only really protected computers where those that had a hardware firewall in place to block certain ports which the worm infiltrated on. There are always worms circulation through the internet that attach to computers who do not have the port or an update to fix the worm blocked. I have Spyware!! Help! Once you have reached the stage that your computer is infected with Spyware, you have two choices. First choice is to download my favorite program, Spybot Search and Destroy. I have used this program for many years and if the spyware can be removed without a format this program will do it. Your second choice, which most people do not like, is a clean format. Basically wipes all of your software off and restarts you from ground zero. Personally I format my computer every 3-6months whether my computer is infected or not. But for the average user that is not viable. I would suggest that your computer is formatted every 1 to 2 years. Just to keep it running smooth and clean. When the computer is formatted you know that it is spyware, virus and any type of malware free. Ending Notes In the end avoiding Spyware, Malware, Worms and Virus's does not require some high priced virus or spyware checker. All it requires is a little work and a little time to make sure you are downloading and installing software you want and making sure it is not infected or bundled. I have not ran any anti-virus or anti-spyware software on my computer since 2000 and the only time I get infected, is when I consciously realize that I downloaded something I should not have. Luckily I have multiple harddrives and I always make sure that my main Windows Drive has nothing important on it so I can format it without worrying about losing any personal or important data. Well I hope this will help you to avoid Spyware and Virus's and keep your system running clean and smooth for years to come! Getting Back on Track I have been so far off the track the past 6 months to a year it is ridiculous. I am sick and tired of always putting stuff off and leaving 90% of what I do un-finished. Well the time for fixing that is now. It is time for me to get back on track with what I need to do. I am unsure when I will be able to get caught up enough to work on Aeonity but hopefully it is in the next month or so. Right now I have many priorities to take care of, such as a website for my dad, a friend and another friend. All the while fixing some computer issues for another friend and getting our kitchen budgeted out and picking out cabinets/tile/sinks/counters etc to be ready for the end of March when my dad is suppose to be coming out and helping us out with that. The next month I am going to busy with multiple projects that I hope to do an awesome job with and get my reputation built back up and credible. All the while making sure I have time to support my wife in anyway I can. Needless to say I am actually very happy and I cannot wait to get started. (Tonight I have to go fix one friend's computer problems and hopefully have time to design a few websites). We will see how everything un-folds the next few weeks. I am very eager right now to take the next few steps into this new part of my life. I want to be truly happy again and I want everyone around me to be happy. It is time to start taking responsibilities for my own actions and following through with my decisions. I feel free for the first time in a long time. My sky is the limit! Thanks for Reading, --Jim |

Should I feel pathetic for spending a good hour or two I was tired and wanting to sleep playing solitaire and only winning about 2 hands? Either way, sleep doesn't mean shit. Theres this girl I've met, she's wonderful. I wont name names and it is probably too early to tell anything anyway. Who knows, maybe she'll read my blog some day and this'll freak her out and she'll run. Anxiety makes me anxious. Anyway, I'm getting to know her well and things are going great. Work sucks. We had this "Always Fresh" check which each shift gets and it determines whether people who've worked there 3 months+ get a nice little extra chunk of cash on their next paycheck. As it turns out, my shift is the reason they failed it. Not that I care, I haven't worked there long enough to see any decent money. But I'm sure, with how dramatic my store is, there will be a lot of hate towards my "afternoon team" I dunno, work sucks and I'm glad I'm not in any way attached to it. I just love money. Theres this beautiful cat I want to adopt. He's white and deaf. I fell in love with the little guy and he doesn't have a home =( my roommate says he doesn't want another cat in the apartment because there isn't space. As well, my current bundle of love, Spectre, is too much of a handful for him. For those who don't know. I feed her. I clean her litter. I entertain her. I pay her vet bills when necessary. She doesn't even enter his room. Apparently she gets in the way though, totally invades his life. Whatever to be honest. Meh I'm getting an email from the owner sometime tomorrow saying whether or not he's still in need of a home. Might take him anyway ... Since when do cats take up space? .. |

I can't believe my luck! haha I just noticed that my license plate is gone! I do not remember it being gone last night, but it was possibly stolen from my driveway. Or, it may have been stolen from the parking garage at my office building...or across campus in another staff lot. I called the police and told them I was not sure where it was stolen and was informed that I could only make a report in the city in which it was stolen! haha So I was like "yeah...it was stolen in *this* city" I'm still waiting now for the police to call me back to take my report over the phone. It's been about two hours now...I hope they call soon lol. I don't want to get home tonight and hear of "the get-away car had the license tag XXX### and seems to be registered to My Name" lol |

Well with everything that has been going on lately this is a perfect song for me right now. I was actually getting lunch and this song came on that made me think how it can apply to my situation right now. I am still acting very childish and I just need to really grow up and take life as it comes in a positive look. I know this song is about cheating etc, and for the record that is not what I am getting out of the song. Basically I am getting out that I know I have screwed up in the past, and with the help of one person they can get me back on track for our master plan. Anyhow here is the song by Blink 182 titled Dammit: It's alright To tell me What you think About me I won't try To argue Or hold it Against you I know that You're leaving You must have Your reasons The season Is calling And your pictures Are falling down And it's happened once again I'll turn to a friend Someone that understands Sees through the master plan But everybody's gone And I've been here for too long To face this on my own Well I guess this is growing up Well I guess this is growing up The steps that I retrace A sad look On your face The timing And structure Did you hear He f**ked her? A day late A buck short I'm writing The report I'm losing And failing When I move I'm flailing now And it's happened once again I'll turn to a friend Someone that understands Sees through the master plan But everybody's gone And I've been here for too long To face this on my own Well I guess this is growing up Well I guess this is growing up And maybe I'll see you At a movie Sneak preview You'll show up And walk by On the arm Of that guy And I'll smile And you'll wave We'll pretend It's okay The charade It won't last When he's gone I won't come back And it's happened once again I'll turn to a friend Someone that understands Sees through the master plan But everybody's gone And I've been here for too long To face this on my own Well I guess this is growing up Well I guess this is growing up And it'll happen once again You'll turn to a friend Someone that understands And sees through the master plan But everybody's gone And you've been here for too long To face this on your own Well I guess this is growing up Well, I guess this is growing up Well, I guess this is growing up Thanks for Reading, --Jim |

I was diligently working at my desk when I heard a voice from the hall saying we had to evacuate the building immediately. We all scattered out, yelling out a warning into the bathrooms as we passed. Outside, we heard there was a suspicious package near the front door. It was described as a long, tall brown bag partially open. Someone else had said it was a "package." Most emergency services were in attendance for this grand event: Firemen, Policemen, and Bomb Squad! We stood at the far corner of the back parking lot....waiting...waiting then BOOM! Geese, ducks, and heron were startled into flight in all directions. The bomb squad had exploded the package. The inquisitive went to the front of the building and discovered the tattered remains of...what??? what is that??? It looks like napkins? Yes! Smoothie King napkins! Turns out that the Smoothie King man had dropped the package of napkins as he was leaving after bringing refreshments to our nursing department. What an exciting afternoon that was. |

Yes, I'm back again. Well, it's too long...so long that I forgot how long was my "holiday" from this blog. Well, but actually, I'm back to announce publicly with a bad news. MY BLOG HAS BEEN SHIFTED! (Oops, how come I saw it as "SHITTED"? O.O) IT HAS BEEN SHIFTED!! My new blog is hosted at Wordpress.com and its URL is http://angelx2008.wordpress.com. I'm not sure of what will become of this blog. I really don't know...maybe some day, I might abandon my Wordpress blog and come back to this Aeonity Blog... Who knows? So, in the meantime, I will still continue to let this blog be on the web. Frankly, I miss this blog a lot. I'm feeling sort-of guilty when I left this blog alone and opened another one. Sad. Nevermind. Perhaps I'll just alternate between the two blogs? Well, PERHAPS. As, for now, I (one heartless creature) will leave this blog and go for another long, long break till I'm getting sick.

I am still the same old, nothing real new going on. Everything is sort of at a stand still on the house etc. Really not much else to say I am still kicking and Lynds and I are doing great. Will update when something exciting happens. Thanks for Reading, --Jim |

Popular Torrent Usages by FrosT Introduction Recently I have been approached by a few people who have asked about torrents. The main question I get is the legality of a torrent and the ethical issues involved with downloading torrents and seeding, or uploading, torrents. Really the torrent community has a bad reputation, for merited reason. Most torrents are used to transport illegal and pirated material. But for the few people who do not use torrents in this way, the legality views can hinder their projects and plans. Torrents Save Money Torrents are an ideal solution for any small software company starting out. The reason being is that bandwidth is expensive. A torrent can easily save a small company starting out or even a larger company money by utilizing a system where peers help share the files. The Torrent system is also ideal for Non-Profit organizations to help get their software or files out to their employees for little to no cost all the while having the volunteers be able to help out with their own computer bandwidth. The biggest organization to utilize the BitTorrents would be the Linux community, who offers free open-source operating systems for those who cannot afford Windows and or want more functionality from their computers. The Ethical Views Torrents are noted for their bad reputation and for a lot of people this will shy them away from ever downloading a torrent. For the few companies that choose to use Torrents this will effectively limit their customer base. Torrents, in it self are not unethical; however, how torrents have been abused by many software pirates is. If you are downloading a torrent to obtain a copy of software, the best way to make sure what you are downloading is not illegal, is first check the companies website (if it is hosted on a 3rd party website). See if the software you are downloading requires to be purchased. If it does you have a couple options, one you can help out the business by informing them of the torrent. Two you can download the software from that torrent, but be sure to buy a genuine license key. Three do your own research; talk with the company etc. doing this will save you from having any type of lawsuits for downloading illegal software. Just remember that not all torrents are bad or good. Always virus scan what you downloading and make sure the software you are downloading is legal, if not go straight to the company. Ending Notes In the end Torrents are not all illegal, although there is a vast community out there that do use torrents illegally, torrents can be considered a viable solution to expensive bandwidth; thus allowing companies, non-profit or profit making, pass along their savings to their customers all the while making access to their files easier. Remember a lot of time and effort go into making movies, games, and software. Give credit where credit is due. |

I finally got a new cellphone with a real plan. Though I have a three year contract, contracts always make me nervous but I'm sure it'll be cool. Got a new iPod. 8 GBs, I love it. If you can't tell, I had an excellent day out shopping on Friday. Got my phone, ipod and 3 awesome DVDs. Se7en, Pulp Fiction and A Clockwork Orange. Been waiting for a chance me and my two roommates are all off work, thats rare. But I wanna watch them with ..them~ Nothing much else to say. Works been crappy, and I've been going way too much. Today though, I do get to start my work week with the new girl and I like her a lot. She drives me to and from work which is nice, she lives like two feet down the street. Been playing a lot of FF12 with my time off. Its such a crappy game but i wanna beat it before FF13 comes out in, I think March. and Devil May Cry 4 ...is going to be comparable with sex I think. But ...I'm a dork. Anywho, gotta get ready for work. |

Is it just me, or did January not even exist? I can't believe how fast this month went for me. Was probably because I never got much accomplished. I had so much trouble sleeping last night. I'm going on 4 hours at the moment and I have work tonight. My roommate left for work an hour ago and I love his bed, I'll probably try to nap in that after this entry. They hired someone new at my work for afternoons. I'm very glad she's going to be working with me. I need more people around me who have a sense of humor, patience, and respect. For some reason, I don't see that much at my work. My roommates also considering switching to my shift, which would be awesome. I wanna write a lot this entry, but I really don't have much to say. I hate being on the computer lately, I've been way depressed and unmotivated to get out and do anything. I've finally got plans to go somewhere tomorrow, since I have the same day off as my best friend, for once. Maybe I'll have something interesting to write then. Goodnight Aoenity. |

I have become complacent and overconfident. On the 29th I ate a #2 large combo from Wendy’s. That’s a double cheeseburger with large fries and large coke. Later I ate some cabbage, carrots, and jalapeno and bacon flavored beans. Directly after eating the Wendy’s, I felt the discomfort with my gallbladder, but it wasn’t bad so I pretty much ignored it. Last night around 11pm, I started to notice a larger more spreading pain but still I ignored it. Around 12am, I decided to take the pills. The pain really wasn’t too bad and somewhere around 3am, I fell asleep. Around 5am I awoke with a great deal of pain, spreading from the gallbladder area, to below it and all the way to the left, below the sternum. This was a pain I kind of think as being extremely hungry multiplied, plus a twisting and burning feeling with cramps. Actually taking deep breaths and pushing down relieved some pain. It felt like I could feel bubbles moving around. I was also shivering. Considering this was perhaps the worst it has been for me and I was concerned I had a fever, I decided to drive to the ER. This time I went to a regular hospital. Actually, the drive was pretty tough. I had to bounce up and down and rock forward when stopped at the lights. I actually found myself driving much faster than normal. I probably shouldn’t have been driving at all. I got to the ER and I was shivering and had very dry mouth and had a hard time actually talking, but I was the only one there and they told me not to drink anything. I went back pretty quick and I told them all the information about my condition, but instead of giving me pain relief, they decided to run the tests. Interestingly they kept telling me to relax, but unfortunately, my tenseness was actually helping me bear it. I had blood taken and then a sonogram. My blood is very dark. After awhile, 2 hours or so, the pain quickly started going away. When the tests were done, the doctor explained to me that I had an 8mm stone lodged at the top of the gallbladder, but the common bile duct was clear and other things normal. So as my gall bladder stopped contracting, the stone slowly started falling back and the pain goes away. I also have other multiple gallstones in the 1cm range. I actually fell asleep in the ER a couple of times. It was a comfortable bed/stretcher. Everybody was nice at this hospital and made a point of explaining everything they were doing. Compared to the teaching hospital, it was a nice change. For future note, I am to go to the ER if the pain is unbearable for pain relief, or if the pain continues for 12 hours. I think the pain chart on the wall must be logarithmic, as 6 fells bad, but 7 is probably 10 times worse. |

I don't wanna work tonight either. Goin on 6 days straight. I feel bad, my roommates scheduled for 9 days straight, though he'll probably get out of it. Not much going on with me lately. Been playing a lot of Halo 3. I'm such an exciting person, no? eh when you only have mornings to enjoy yourself, you don't have a lot of time to be creative. |

Well, now I have allergies, but I really don't feel sick. I've been sneezing a lot. So I have Cholelithiasis, aka gall stones. The option the doctors gave me was surgery to remove my gall bladder, but I have decided to just ignore it. After all they said my stones were so small I shouldn't feel any pain. It would appear that I have had this pain for years, occasionally after eating ice cream. So my solution is to avoid things that I know give me pain. I was taking dicyclomine for about a month. I feel like it messed me up inside. So I quit that too. Up until my attack, as I am calling it, I felt fine. As such I will probably be fine until the next one. Then I will take the dicyclomine. Naturally, there are some bad possible outcomes from gall stones, and I'll be sure to watch out for the signs of them. This has however motivated me to try my best to eat low cholesterol and low fat foods. Interestingly, I went to a teaching hospital/clinic. It was kind of like Scrubs, but not funny. I didn't like it. In the future, I will go elsewhere. |
