Explains how to convert a .MDF file to .ISO file extension
To do this simply rename the .MDF file extension to .BIN at which point you can burn, or if you like to convert to .ISO. (Yes I know you can burn an .MDF file too) Do the following.
Find software like MagicISO and convert it. At this point there is no easy .BIN to .ISO and if you do know post a comment.
Hope this helps.

anonymous - March 19th, 2008
im trying to rip this dvd onto my laptop
could you give me a software that can do this ?
|
anonymous - March 23rd, 2008
you know you can just rename it to .ISO
|
anonymous - March 23rd, 2008
The problem with Magic ISO and some of the other copying programs is that some of the new copy protection on legit software will disable you from using it if Magic ISO and other programs like it are installed. These programs install and run at kernel mode level. |
anonymous - March 27th, 2008
there is no '.mdf' with myfile and I already showed hidden file and folders
please help |

With PowerISO there's no need to change the file name. Just open this tiny app, browse for the .MDF file (not the .MDS) select it, and do a "Save as". PowerISO recognises .MDF files (from Alcohol120%), and when you do the "Save as" it saves the file in .ISO by default.
If you just want to burn the image it is even more easy, just browse for the .MDF file and click the "Burn" icon in the app.
If you want to add files to the original image file is cool too, do it in the app interface before you do the "Save as" operation. If your image is a bootble image it will still be after the procedure, no worry.
If think UltraISO and MagicISO work the same way, but I'm not shore.

This is all shite. Tossers that use anything other than Nero and Nero recognised files are arseholes and wankers |
anonymous - April 20th, 2008
Hey you're right on man. It's about time the feds did something about cunts that use magic fucking iso or whatever program these losers are on about. The problem is, you download something in good faith, get excited about it, then your heart sinks because you discover it's some dumbass format that you've never heard of. You go onto the web and get to a fucking shit hole like this site full of arseholes and wankers as you put it. We need software on all torrent sites that automatically delete torrents with these types of formats. I'd like to fuck up peoples computers who deal in this smegma... |

Beware, often mdf images are ripped from protected discs using special techniques to preserve the protection, if you convert it to iso keep the original mdf, just in case the programs inside don't work anymore due to the missing copyprotection! |
anonymous - May 30th, 2008
I think MDF is a good file format. |
anonymous - June 06th, 2008
>>I think MDF is a good file format.
Who cares what do you think and which format is better, the question is how to convert MDF to ISO.
Better for free, and 100% correct without burning! |
anonymous - June 09th, 2008
OKAY PEOPLE, THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT. YOU'LL NEED ALCOHOL 120%. YOU HAVE 2 FILES: MDF AND MDS. MOUNT THE ONLY ONE THAT IT ALLOWS YOU TO ONTO YOUR VIRTUAL DRIVE. THEN CREATE AN ISO FILE FROM THAT DRIVE. THEN BURN THE ISO FILE ONTO A CD. |
anonymous - June 10th, 2008
I found a way by using alcohol to mount the mdf then use winiso to make an iso of the image, then delete then original mdf and mount the iso, iso are also much smaller in size |
anonymous - June 10th, 2008
Oh, maybe i should have read the post before my previous one haha |
anonymous - June 10th, 2008

anonymous - June 25th, 2008
y dont they just zip the file instead of changing the format and make people feeling sick to had a stupid time on changing or convert the file from mdf to iso or bla2.. |
anonymous - July 02nd, 2008
I got some good tips form here thank you all and some were pretty funny. I am looking into computers as a Job and I like to keep up to date on all the new stuff coming out. Pluse the new file types make it hard to Run my PSX emulator. but the best way I have found to deal with MDF files is to get 120% and mount on Vert drive. then make the Emulator run from CD and put the Vert as you drive. works better that way and also you can just run programs off the Vert.
Thanks for leting me Post

Yes Magic ISO worked perfect for me.. I already had it but didn't know it could convert images. i converted a psx MDF image file into bin/cue with it..
Just run Magic Iso and in the Tools tab you'll find Convert. when i tried to convert it into an ISO, for some reason the Iso did not work, so i converted it into BIN. Now its working fine. |
anonymous - September 21st, 2008
??? why do you need to convert the ifle when you only can change the extension to .iso???
Works for me anyway ! |

anonymous - October 10th, 2008
programme: Bin2Iso - very easy to convert bin to iso except i don't think its compatible with vista. i'ld post a link but its seemingly not allowed... just do a google search for 'bin to iso' and click on the first result - theres a link to the download from that page.
An answer to your query in the OP
"At this point there is no easy .BIN to .ISO and if you do know post a comment."

Wow, just use PowerISO. You don't even have to burn the ISO. You can just extract the contents of the MDF file to a folder. No Burning needed. |
