How to Download Myspace MP3 Music

Music: Uncle Mark - Stuck Inside
Have you ever wanted to download a song from Myspace? Ever wanted it in an easy .MP3 format for your music player?
Well with 10 minutes of my time on a pretty quite Sunday, I figured it out. The software is called Myspace MP3 Gopher v2.9.1, which allows you to download any song from Myspace. The process is pretty simple and straight forward.
Download Myspace MP3 Gopher via File Front.
Download MySpaceMP3Gopher.exe
Second Download Location MySpaceMp3Gopher.exe
Here is how the software works.
- Open Myspace MP3 Gopher
- Enter the Friend ID via Myspace URL
- Click Get Song List
- Click Settings
- Click Default (To randomize the ports)
- Double click the song in the list
- Save the File to your desktop
- Wait until the Flash player is fully loaded
- Then press the "Download" button
If you encounter a message on the Myspace player that states. ERROR CONNECTING simply continue to try, or go back to step 5...and try once again.
If you have an issues post here and I will do my best to help you out. Good luck, and happy listening.

how do u know when it's done donloading |
 |
david - October 13th, 2007
It will saying download complete, and give you the MP3. |
 |
frost - October 16th, 2007
Checked October 16th 2007. Directions work as stated.
You must be doing something wrong. Instead of just saying "Don't Work" why not enlighten david on how you tried and what part did not work.
I believe that is called Constructive Criticism, what you gave him is called an idiotic remark. Chances are no one will even try to help you other than this comment. |

 |
david - November 15th, 2007
Depends where you download the program. I always download programs to my desktop. |
 |
frost - November 15th, 2007
To anonymous on Nov. 14th.
David is right, it is hard to say. The most common spot would be C : / Program Files/xxxxxxx
I put xxxxxx because I am not sure if it would be "Gopher" or if there is another company who makes "Gopher", but that is where it would be located at. |
anonymous - November 27th, 2007
It always says that it can't convert the RTMP (or whatever) stream to an mp3 for me. So it connects, but then there's nothing. |
anonymous - December 04th, 2007
Yeah, it says " Unable to load flash player. Make sure you have flash installed"
Any help? |
 |
david - December 04th, 2007
You may need to restart the program, and try again. This has happened, but it will eventually work. |
anonymous - December 12th, 2007
Hey I just want to say thanks for the guidance. The information help alot. |
anonymous - December 12th, 2007
How do you know it's fully loaded? I just wait for ten minutes to be sure, and then I click play. But then it just stops recording in the middle of the song. What do I do? |
 |
david - December 12th, 2007
Clear your internet cache, and try until you receive complete audio capture. |
anonymous - December 23rd, 2007
tjamk you was looking every were for this every one had dead links |
anonymous - December 24th, 2007
yo duders.
I complied with all the instructions,
but as soon as I hit "get the song" I get an error pop up that states, "could not retrieve songlist from the target ID, Please try again!"
is it supposed to do that every time?
I gave it some time but it's still doing it.
am I doing anything wrong?
- any help would be appreciated. |

You are right frost, and it is still working today, Wed. Dec. 26, and on Vista Home Premium no less!! Thank you david, I was forced to go this route because several of my friends on MySpace are awesome bands, singers and songwriters, and they occasionally give you a free download. Well, I can't get Firefox (my preferred browser) nor Internet Exploder to download the songs. david, your easy and excellent instructions are a God send, and for what it's worth anonymous, MP3 Gopher does work. Just follow the directions and you should be good to go. Kudos david!! |
anonymous - December 27th, 2007
My bad anonymous from Oct. 16, I see now where you were given great assistance from both david and frost, isn't the Internet awesome?!?! Again, sorry for the dis dude.
anonymous Dec. 24, I haven't run into that problem yet, but I'm using it very sparingly, as I play in a band myself. If I do run into it and figure out a solution, I've bookmarked this page to return and help you out. 8fa7b |

I have a problem. Followed the steps, song plays, but after it ends, the downloaded file doesn't appear on my desktop. Any suggestions? |
anonymous - January 28th, 2008
Looks like MySpace found a fix to prevent this..unfortunately! Nevertheless another (slightly harder though) method is still working via: hxxp://www.devlounge.net/sidenotes/using-firebug-to-download-songs-from-myspace |
anonymous - February 13th, 2008
Hey, thanks a lot for the file, the official site has removed it. C: |
anonymous - February 15th, 2008
Thanks for the program guys!
Just one problem: I've managed to track the song I want, and start the download, but after a while it just freezes, and is un-responsive (in which case I have to use the Task Manager to close it)
is there anything I can do about this? |
 |

anonymous - February 26th, 2008
Alright, so... I've been looking for a live link on this one, and this seems to be the only viable option available.
I'm having some trouble, though... For some reason, when I go through the process, the Flasher player doesn't load in the little "Gopher" window - it just stays white for some reason.
I have the latest version of flash, I've cleared my Internet cache, and I've hit "default" a million times. :-p
Any ideas? |

Your thingie works great. Many thanks!
Any way to improve the bitrate? Or is 96 the standard bitrate on MySpace? |
anonymous - March 28th, 2008
Ok, so I get the songs list, click download etc, and Gopher tells me this: "NOW... Press the PLAY button on the Flash player! WEEE!" The play icon is not visible, only Pause, I hit that, nothing happens. |
anonymous - March 28th, 2008
nevermind. I am just impatient. |
anonymous - April 03rd, 2008
Everything works great! The only problem i'm having is after i save the file on my computer and i try to add it to my iTunes. It says iTunes can't read the file or something. Do you know how i can add it to my iTunes playlist? |
 |
david - April 03rd, 2008
I had no issues regarding that...try downloading the song again...perhaps at a different setting. |
anonymous - April 03rd, 2008

i'm having a problem with this -- the program will not begin the rtmp to mp3 conversion process. it just plays the song. i thought it might be a router problem, so i tried opening the tcp port set in gopher. no dice. any ideas why this is happening?
thanks. |
anonymous - April 30th, 2008
uhm, okay. this is weird.. buuut, i did everything you instructed me to do. but like some other comment above, once i clicked the "Download" button.. there's nothing there. it's just... white space.
should i be waiting for something to happen.. or something? o_O |
anonymous - May 02nd, 2008
thanx David and Andrew (the programmer)! |
anonymous - May 12th, 2008
every time i try and use the gopher i get this message "sorry, the gopher couldn't convert the RTMP stream to an MP3
try to redownload this song again later."
i haven't gotten the gopher to work once, and i've done everything you have listed.

anonymous - May 27th, 2008
I'm having the problem when after I click download, there play button does not appear. Its only a pause button. I saw someone else had mentioned it, but my computer is doing it too. Can it have anything to do with a slow connection? |
anonymous - May 27th, 2008
Okay never mind, you just really really have to be patient, after about 2 minutes it finally did something. Sorry. |
anonymous - May 29th, 2008
Woah, I've been looking everywhere on how to download music links and where to download this gopher mechanism. Finally found it and it works great! Thanks so much(: |
anonymous - June 03rd, 2008
it downloaded it,
but when i go to play the song on Windows Media Player,
it says
"Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. For additional assistance, click Web Help." |
anonymous - June 07th, 2008
Absolute legend! Nice one |
anonymous - June 25th, 2008
Well, the player downloaded nicely but I have tried several Friend ID's, including my own, it's my songs I want to download, and I keep getting an error message stating "Could not retrieve a song list from the target ID". Any suggestions? |
anonymous - June 27th, 2008
I have cleared my cache, did a disc clean-up/defrag, I have 88% space on my computer & still when I try to download songs, only the first 1 & 1/2 minutes of the song loads & I get the message that "the download is complete" even though it's not all there. Any suggestions? |
anonymous - July 03rd, 2008
