The ONE thing about this that amazed me was the fact that there is a floppy. I thought they stopped adding Floppy drives in. Shows how much I know.

dvd cdr combo actually works? i've heard that model breaks down a lot, and returns lots of errors.

I have one of these drives (OEM in a Dell Dimension 4700) new last April. It stopped working last month and I have spent too much time with Dell trying to get them to do something about it. Going to pay my local Tech to rip it out and install something new. Any suggestions?

This model still works great with me. No problems. The DVD cdr combo still works, but sometimes it has trouble reading data. As for the 4700's my wife has one, and its still kicking. No problems. If you are interested in something other than Dell may I recommend a selection from NewEgg.com or altech.com
