Simple Tips to Save Gas

Here are a few simple tips that will help you get up to an extra 25 - 50 miles per tank of gasoline. This works out to about 1 - 3 gallons. At $3.00 per gallon that is as much as $9.00 per tank and if you divide that out you can lower your $3.00 / gallon to around $2.40 / gallon. If you are paying $2.50 you can get it down to just under $2.00!

Drive Slower: Driving fast uses more gasoline per mile, so instead of driving 5mph over the speed limit (like most of us do), drive 5mph under the speed limit. For a 20 mile trip at 60 mph it takes 20 minutes, and if you slow the heck down to just 50 mph, it still only takes 24 minutes! Amazing isnâ€™t it how little difference it makes between 50 and 60 mph in time â€¦quot; but it makes a huge difference in your fuel. Expect to save at least 2 - 3 mpg doing this alone.

Slow Acceleration / Low RPMS: Take off slow, donâ€™t get in a hurry to get up to speed â€¦quot; take your time. If you have an RPM guage try to keep it under 2,000 to 2,500 RPMs on acceleration (especially in the city).

Skip a trip: Pick one trip you would normally take and skip it. This alone can save lots of money and lower your overall cost by up to a dollar per gallon depending on the length of the trip.

Smooth braking: Yes, braking makes a difference. Donâ€™t slam on your brakes.

Carpool: duh, this of course saves money.

Just to make all you yanks feel good, try buying Gas in the UK....we call it Petrol!.....currently at around 90p per liter.......that is around $6.16 per US gallon!!!!!
Sorry if I don't sound to sympathetic......anybody wanna take in a poor Jaguar driver%^&**(()

hey thanks for the comment on my site! those are some good tips, tho idk if i could drive 50 in a 55!! it would drive me insane!!
