Winter Storm Warning January 16th 2007

Posted by David  •  Jan 16th, 2007 9:52:17 am - Subscribe | Mood: cold | Music: NOAA - Weather Radio

In my area freezing rain...rain and light sleet. Ice accumulation of up to one quarter of an inch. Highs in the mid 30s. North winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation 90 percent.

Priscilla didnt have to go into work today, along with the greater third of San Antonio. I tried calling customer service with our hosting company in Dallas Tx but it goes straight to voice mail. Tech support is online though. Texas is not use to this kinda weather, well I can speak for the greater Southwest of Texas.

Winter Storm Warning in effect until 12 PM CST Wednesday... Cold and breezy with occasional light freezing rain mixed with sleet through noon. Precipitation amounts near or less than a tenth of an inch. Temperatures near 30...with the wind chill index 15 to 20. North winds 15 to 25 mph. One quarter to one half inch ice accumulations is expected. This will cause hazardous driving on roads...bridges and overpasses. In addition ice on exposed objects...walkways...trees and power lines will create a hazard. Travel is strongly discouraged. If it is absolutely necessary for you to travel this morning or today...use of extreme caution will make for a safer trip in the cold...damp and breezy conditions. Highs today will only be near 34. Stay tuned for updates on this dangerous winter storm.

Wow. Although I understand, we've been getting 115km/hr winds and since yesterday it hasn't stopped snowing. What gets me the most is the black ice, and now that I've been walking everywhere (so I glad I live close to downtown now) apparently my new favorite hobby is arbitrarily falling on invisible ice. wink.gif. I hope the storm goes over well for you guys and doesn't cause too much damage...
