Delta, Brian Harmonise In Full House It has been two years and two albums since she first sang for fans in the Queen Street Mall, but Delta Goodrem finally gave Brisbane its fully fledged encore performance last night.
Shrugging off rumours of poor ticket sales, Australia's pop princess hit the stage at an almost capacity Entertainment Centre for her first and only Brisbane concert as part of her high energy national Visualise tour.
Unlike the intimate affair many anticipated for her first tour, the concert was as much a stage show complete with a decorative set, long catwalk where Goodrem shone in several colourful costume changes alongside a 10-piece band that included a string section.
While Goodrem played the piano to songs like Lost Without You and Not Me, Not I, she was also in command of the stage, dancing and moving her way through the set accompanied by four male back-up dancers.
Many of the concert-goers looked as if it was their first live music experience and Goodrem didn't disappoint as she sang her way through a very full set list with the aid of a chorus of young fans.
With two hit albums – her debut Innocent Eyes which sold a million copies and the follow up five times platinum Mistaken Identity – Goodrem had no shortage of ammunition from her first No. 1 Born To Try to the latest single A Little Too Late.
She also dug out a few songs that weren't her own with a surprise rendition of Jet's hit Are You Gonna Be My Girl.
Goodrem's beau, former Westlife member Brian McFadden also thrilled the crowd with an on-stage appearance alongside his girlfriend after flying in to join her from overseas last week.
They took to the stage for an intimate rendition of their No. 1 duet Almost Here.
