Delta, Brian Harmonise In Full House

It has been two years and two albums since she first sang for fans in the Queen Street Mall, but Delta Goodrem finally gave Brisbane its fully fledged encore performance last night.

Shrugging off rumours of poor ticket sales, Australia's pop princess hit the stage at an almost capacity Entertainment Centre for her first and only Brisbane concert as part of her high energy national Visualise tour.

Unlike the intimate affair many anticipated for her first tour, the concert was as much a stage show complete with a decorative set, long catwalk where Goodrem shone in several colourful costume changes alongside a 10-piece band that included a string section.

While Goodrem played the piano to songs like Lost Without You and Not Me, Not I, she was also in command of the stage, dancing and moving her way through the set accompanied by four male back-up dancers.

Many of the concert-goers looked as if it was their first live music experience and Goodrem didn't disappoint as she sang her way through a very full set list with the aid of a chorus of young fans.

With two hit albums – her debut Innocent Eyes which sold a million copies and the follow up five times platinum Mistaken Identity – Goodrem had no shortage of ammunition from her first No. 1 Born To Try to the latest single A Little Too Late.

She also dug out a few songs that weren't her own with a surprise rendition of Jet's hit Are You Gonna Be My Girl.

Goodrem's beau, former Westlife member Brian McFadden also thrilled the crowd with an on-stage appearance alongside his girlfriend after flying in to join her from overseas last week.

They took to the stage for an intimate rendition of their No. 1 duet Almost Here.

Delta Goodrem's Ring Speculation

Australian actress-turned-singer Delta Goodrem walked through Brisbane airport yesterday with a diamond ring on the ring finger of her left hand.

Speculation in the media has been rife over the celebrity couple after the ex-Westlife singer joined Delta at the Melbourne stop of her Visualise tour.

The Aussie singer's management, however, dismissed the claims telling the Herald Sun: "She's just swapped her rings around on her fingers during the flight. There's nothing to tell."

Delta Denies Union

HER ring finger indicated she was engaged, her grip indicated it was to fellow pop singer Brian McFadden, but her management indicated otherwise yesterday.

Australian pop princess Delta Goodrem strolled through Brisbane Airport yesterday, with her Irish boyfriend in her right hand and an unmistakably large diamond ring hanging from the ring finger of her left hand.
The separated former Westlife vocalist had earlier joined the singer on the Melbourne leg of her Visualise tour, sparking engagement rumours and denials.

But even though yesterday's diamond demonstration appeared to be a clear sign of upcoming nuptials, Goodrem's management said it was a terrible case of mistaken identity.

"She's just swapped her rings around on her fingers . . . she swapped fingers during the flight," a spokeswoman said last night. "There's nothing to tell."

Goodrem arrived in Queensland a day ahead of her Brisbane concert and was greeted by a group of keen fans, some of whom had waited at the airport all day and others who brought presents for their favourite singer.

She was also accompanied by a large entourage, indicating the largesse of her national tour.

"There's a lot of dancing . . . I don't think audiences know what to expect from me," she said of her first concert tour.

"The fans have been wonderful though, really positive."

Goodrem said the so-called "whispering campaign" that suggested concert ticket sales had been poor, was "rubbish".

"We just played to a sold-out audience in Melbourne the other night and it was a huge turn-out," she said.

"I suppose people have to say something but it's just a pity they have to be negative.

"It's ridiculous."

Last week, concert promoters said more than 8000 tickets had been sold to the Brisbane concert out of a possible 9500.

Concerts in other states have seen the pop star undergo numerous costume changes, and perform covers including Carol King's I Feel The Earth Move and Jet's Are you Gonna Be My Girl?.

News : Delta Goodrem Exposed

Delta Goodrem Exposed

THE delightfully wholesome Delta Goodrem turned a rosy shade of pink during her Saturday concert when a minor wardrobe malfunction halted the show.

A problem with Goodrem's battery pack, to use with her radio microphone, was the first little hurdle to overcome.
But the situation was made much worse when a technician was called out on stage at Rod Laver Arena to remedy the problem.

In the guy's frantic efforts to get the show moving again, he raised Delta's long flowing gown a couple of centimetres too high and the star suddenly had her Delta brandname knickers flashed to the sold-out matinee crowd of mums and kids.

The embarrassed singer apologised to her young audience before continuing the show in her typically professional way.

The concert however was not without other dramas.

The Eye believes Delta's Irish beau, Brian McFadden, lost a tooth before or after the show and was quickly ferried to a dentist to have the problem rectified.

Despite the hiccups, the audience seemed totally enamoured by the overall concert.

Delta and Brian added another duet to the line-up, singing one of Brian's hits from his Westlife days, Flying without Wings.

Talk that a Delta backlash has been brewing has been quashed by news that the star has sold 70-80,000 tickets to the Visualise tour, making it one of the biggest tours this country has seen in years.

Delta and Brian will be hoping that they have used up all their bad luck because we hear one of the Sydney shows this weekend will be filmed for a concert DVD.

Out Of The Blue, Will Delta Say I Do?

Her ring finger indicated she was engaged, her grip indicated it was to fellow pop singer Brian McFadden, but her management indicated otherwise yesterday.

Australian pop princess Delta Goodrem strolled through Brisbane Airport yesterday, with her Irish boyfriend in her right hand and a large diamond ring hanging from the ring finger of her left hand.

The separated former Westlife singer had earlier joined the singer on the Melbourne leg of her Visualise tour, sparking engagement rumours and denials.

But even though yesterday's diamond demonstration appeared to be a clear sign of upcoming nuptials, Delta's management said it was a terrible case of mistaken identity.

"She's just swapped her rings around on her fingers... she swapped fingers during the flight," a spokeswoman said last night. "There's nothing to tell."

A photograph of Delta, taken on June 13, with a similar ring on her right finger, initially appeared to back up the story.

She arrived in Queensland a day ahead of her Brisbane concert and was greeted by a group of keen fans, some of whom had waited at the airport all day and others who brought presents for their favourite singer.

"There's a lot of dancing . . . I don't think audiences know what to expect from me," she said of her first concert tour. "The fans have been wonderful though, really positive."

Delta also responded to the whispering campaign that suggested concert ticket sales had been poor, labelling the comments "rubbish".

"We just played to a sold-out audience in Melbourne the other night and it was a huge turnout," she said. "I suppose people have to say something, but it's just a pity they have to be negative. It's ridiculous."
