mood: starving
i get junk mail,
spam, machine calls
from politicians that
i hang up on.
the knock at the door
is only the junk man
and the honk on the street
is for the neighbor.
even the crumbs of
postcard hellos have
long eroded.
if i knew a leper
he would introduce me
to his leprous friend
and they would look
with pity upon me.
