Don't be afraid of criticism. If you are really worried about expressing yourself to others, write for yourself. Write a poem, story or journal entry and allow your pen to go wild, expressing whatever floats in your mind. The worst critic you can have is yourself, so once you become comfortable with your writing style and technique you'll easily be able to show the world what you have to offer. Also, don't feel the need to hold back on Aeonity. Aeonity is a place that is dedicated to giving people a place to express themselves to others, so take a hold of the opportunity and write your heart out! I personally enjoy reading what other people have to say and I know there are tons out there that share the same.

I agree with Kevin. That's good advice. I'd like to add that if you like to read, you should write down quotes or write down how certain chapters/paragraphs/poems/whatever make you feel. I like to take a lyric from a song that I like and use it as inspiration. Sometimes, words get stuck in my head, and I use them as a starting point for writing out the other things stuck in my brain that are harder to explain. And even if you think your writing sucks, write anyway. You might read it later and think of a better way to do it, or realize that you like it. Anyway, please don't give up on writing. You don't suck at it, and no matter what you think of your writing skills, you can only improve upon them if you keep writing.
