This is obviously a hair entry. *laughs* I have killer hair, especially when it is damp. Well.. I overstressed one toy today and it went crack as I inserted it.![]() This is such a shame.. I have only purchased this recently. It is not a product flaw though, I have worn it a number of times without a problem at all; it would have broken on the first try if it was faulty. I have emailed the manufacturer to see what they can do (make it into a two prong and a stick, maybe) but I doubt it will be worth the price I'd have to pay in total and I'd best just get a new one. I got an offer on the Dutch hair forum from someone who is willing to sand it down to a two prong and one stick for me, wait and see how that is going to turn out. I took a break in writing this entry right after I wrote that bit above, and in the mean time I have gotten word from the seller, 60thstreet. They are sending me a replacement fork. FOR FREE! Despite the fact that they are in NO way responsible for my hair killing their wonderful toy, they are offering me a new free of charge (they are even paying for shipping!) fork. WHOA! Of course I have thanked them using my regular enthusiastic way of thanking people. Hehe. After that I started thinking. I needed to change my bun around so not as much force is on the forks, that is for sure. I don't want to break another one! I had been to the dentist this afternoon (all was dandy, not even tartar removal needed) and I still had it in a loose braid. I figured: let's try and turn this like I do the bun and secure it. Normally I have to twist the hair to get rid of some of the length, and a braid will hold itself, so there is not so much tight twisted hair stuff for that fork to hold. Pull out the band right before securing and voilĂ , here is the result! ![]() I think I like it even better than the original bun *snort* |

Today was possibly one of the weirdest I have had, yet, when working as a home health aide. At least, planning wise. I arrived at the morning client on time, just like every Wednesday morning, and I see this ambulance in the street. What the.. and it is at HER house.. FUCK. Neighbor lady was looking out the window waiting for me, and I quickly jumped out of the car and jogged inside, getting an update. They thought a hemorrhage in the brain at that time, with loss of certain bodily functions. Aww crap. That means caring home and loooong recuperation. Truly suckaroo. I went upstairs where the paramedics were working on her, and found her crying quite a bit, asking me not to leave her son alone with all the work. Don't you worry about that now, it will all work out fine. She was taken to the hospital and left me and the neighbor lady behind. I talked with her a bit on how to do things, and I told her I would go to the afternoon client first, see if he was ok with me starting there early, and then when done there I would come back and help her clean the place up a wee bit. Paramedics leave dirtiness all over where they work, including syringes, sticky stuff, even the heart chart I saw (which by the way shocked me, but I didn't tell the family that, the docs can do that much better). Thank goodness the afternoon client was home and didn't mind one bit, and after I worked there I went on back and helped neighbor lady with the wrap ups, tidying out the bedroom, and a quick vacuum, toilet clean and mop of the downstairs area. I was home a good two hours before my time. I had called the office from the afternoon client. I wanted to get things sorted out BEFORE calling them, because the last thing I wanted was work somewhere else right after this happened. Sorry, but I'd rather have the afternoon off than have that happen to me on a day like this one. Last I heard it turns out she has had a minor stroke, her right arm she cannot use anymore, no news on the legs in any case. The blood was VERY thick (she is on blood thinners, but apparently something went awry somewhere), and that started it off. Not a clue how long she must remain in hospital now, wait and see, but I hope it isn't going to take too long in any case. The sooner she is home, the sooner I can work there again! In the mean time I will get another address, so I will have to see which person that is going to be. |

Umm yeah sure I can! I got a call from the team leader on Thursday afternoon asking me that question. Needless to say of course I can. I was shocked a little when she said Friday at noon because I thought something was wrong and I had to come in at the office or something to get scolded. Brrr, thank goodness that didn't happen! All I needed to do was indeed what she asked: prepare a meal. It involved putting some stuff ready on the table and chucking a MW meal in the machine and serving it. No biggie and I was done in 15 minutes. I bought the cutest blanket (or rather, plaid) after I was done. The Friday morning client had that one on the couch, and it was covered with kittens. Needless to say: I wanted one too and asked where he got it. So.. now I have one too *grin* Today was meet day. Antwerp, to be precise, and it was a load of fun. Lots of walking, and carrying jars with conditioner for me, but the weight didn't bother me really. We went and saw lots of places and in the end we had to still almost run to catch our train. Good thing back when at the other Belgium meet I had been running back and forth at the train station so much; I knew exactly where to go this time so we made it on the train with a minute or two to spare. I got two pairs of hair sticks, a little long, in fact my longest! But they were cheapo ones and with a proper tip to boot. I also got me a mini wide tooth wooden comb, which is nice because I can toss that in the bag when going on meets and such now. I did sand it a bit and oiled it, the poor thing was dry as desert sand. I never took my hair out of its bun though, I didn't feel like it at all. It was great weather, but terribly windy, and to then put it up all over again, brrr. It was a good thing to meet a bunch of new people alright, and the weather thank goodness cooperated perfectly. I noticed when I got home that it had rained there, not in Antwerp though! |

It was a fun meet, and I got a present to boot: a cold. It manifested itself on Tuesday, was irritating on Wednesday, and went to the throat clearing stage on Thursday. Currently all that remains is a bit of a stuffed nose that I occasionally shoot up with Otrivin, nasal spray. I got through the week just fine though I must say: I was glad it was Friday! Tomorrow it is hairdresser time, which reminds me.. someone made my hair into almost tail bone length, and I must say.. whoa. ![]() You may or may not like it.. I do, that is what matters. *grins* All I would have changed by that time is the hemline. I don't like a straight one much at that length and would go for a slight U shape. I also got my replacement forks in yesterday, mighty quick shipping there. My dad got his new car in last Thursday, and it's a beauty. I think he will like this one a lot better as it does what he was missing. All computerized too, lots of settings that one can set up and program, quite funny. I drove the car as well, and nope, it isn't hard to get used to. I do still prefer my own 10yr old though *winks* More sportsy, that one. Yeah, peachy week, nothing new otherwise really to tell, so I will leave it at this. |
