Well I guess I need to get some people up to speed.
We closed down the fellowship for the moment...... we'll see how the Lord leads, but for now I'm doing ministry downtown with the street people and jane's still working full-time.
God is always good and always provides, Amen

So here we are away for a few days and enjoying some family time with the folks.
It's amazing how a little city can develop overnight. All the old stomping ground are condos or new sub-divisions.
I guess we can't stand in the way of progress

The Business of Christianity

No wonder people get turned off by Christianity. It has become a booming business. You can buy this resource or that resource. You can pay for this conference or that one.
I have no problem with recoverying cost for materials and a workman is worthy of his hire but some things just cross the line for me.
I was invited to come and be a part of a leadership round table the other day. When I got the flyer I was a little surprised to see that there was a charge for me to come and share my ideas with other leaders and to hear what they have to say. Why is there a cost for the exchange of information, strategies and prayer with fellow Christian workers?
I believe the cost for the Good News has already been paid for in full, by Jesus Christ, with His own blood.
I remember reading a wonderful story in the New Testament of how Jesus sent out the 12 and the 72 with nothing but the clothes on their back. They were told to lay hands on the sick and preach the Good News and to trust God for their needs. They all came back and none of them starved.
Why has the work of the Kingdom become such a profitable business?
