BMW has been perfecting their engine parts for many years and now all their hard work and effort are paying off. BMW recently received an award every car maker has been dreaming of - the International Engine of the Year 2007. According to Business Week, the BMW 3LTwin Turbo engine was awarded as the International Engine of the Year 2007. The award was given at the ninth annual International Engine of the Year Awards. Before the BMW got the award, it has undergone several tests done by the 62 independent motoring journalists over 30 countries and it did turn out so well. BMW was able to get the award for three consecutive years and the brand is also claiming seven more from the 12 awards by its 5L V10 as well as its 2.5L inline six. The award for 1-litre to 1.4-litre class was again governed by the supercharged TSI and 1.4-litre turbocharged found on the Volkswagen on its second year. While the category 1.8-litre to 2-litre was given to the Audi A3 and the Golf GTi from the Audi’s 2-litre turbo. Porsche also made a scene where it finally won the trophy for the International Engine of the Year Award. It was one among the most prestigious awards given at the event. The 3.6L turbo engine on the outgoing 911 Turbo was the winner and was voted to be the best 3-litre to 4-litre engine of today’s production cars. Here are the other winners which I got from the autochannel.com: BMW is also known to be a quality maker of car spare parts like BMW 740 parts, BMW E39 parts and BMW 325IS parts, so if ever you are looking for BMW parts, online stores got piles of quality ones for you to choose from. |

Mazda Mazda2/Demio Will Soon Wear New Miller-Cycle Engine Jun 5th, 2007 7:43:58 am - Subscribe

![]() Japanese auto makers are the leaders when it comes to hybrid cars. The Toyota Motor Corporation and the Honda Motor Corporation are two among the largest suppliers of hybrid cars not only in the US but also in the entire world. Then here comes the Prius which was the most famous hybrid car of all time. Truly, the world is going crazy over hybrid cars. But just as some may be so into it, others may prefer the conventional kind of cars because of their practicality. We can never deny that hybrid cars come with almost twice the price of these conventional vehicles, not to mention the price of the ethanol or the hydrogen fuel which is definitely high. This is why some car manufacturers choose to build two versions of the models that they currently manufacture. Some car makers are also making quality engine parts for their vehicles that are not as expensive as the hybrids but also perform almost with the same real time fuel efficiency. Just like Mazda. The Japanese automobile manufacturer is doing a new engine that can compensate to the stricter fuel emission standards. The new MZR 1.3-liter Miller-cycle engine will soon be available on the upcoming Mazda2/Demio. It will also be linked to the auto maker’s first constant variable transmission. According to the Japanese auto maker, the new upcoming Demio will soon rock the showrooms in July as it wears the newest MZR 1.3-liter Miller-cycle engine on its hood. It can produce a real time fuel economy of 54 mpg with great improvement of like 20% as compared to the 45-mpg rating of the previous model. With the availability of the new Miller-cycle engine on the Demio, it means that the vehicle gets the green tax exemption of Japan. Mazda did not announce the specs and the pricings for the new car and its parts but I guess the new auto part needs a supercharger as required by the Miller-cycle engine. Aside from the new powertrain installed on the new car model, the Demio is boasting of 220 pounds of lightness as compared to its previous model. Like the BMW catalytic converter, the new Demio will also have this car part so they could really perform its best in terms of fuel consumption. Mazda is also thinking about giving the customers what they need and what also fits their budget. |

Ford and Navistar: Another Lawsuit Episode Jun 9th, 2007 7:15:01 am - Subscribe

This is not the previous news guys. This is another Ford and Navistar lawsuit episode. We all know about what these two companies have been through tough times. Ford stopped receiving the engines from Navistar because of its unreasonable price increase. The domestic car maker then decided to cut off receiving engine parts for their vehicles. But then, Navistar was forced to file a lawsuit against Ford because of breach of contract. According to the engine maker, a contract was made between the two so Ford continues to receive the engines they made. After further interrogation, the jury has decided that Ford should continue receiving engines from the Navistar with the allotted price increase and the Navistar will continue to give Ford the engine they need for their car models. After the agreement, everything goes well to both Ford and Navistar, until this day when Navistar was reported to file another lawsuit for Ford. What seems to be the reason? According to Navistar International, the domestic car marker copied its very own designed engine. But that is not the end of it all - the engine manufacturer is asking for "hundreds of millions" for the compensation and the damages done to their company name. The lawsuit filed in Chicago tells that Ford is being accused for breaching the 2002 contract and that Navistar will be the one to produce the a 3.6-liter diesel engine also known as the Lion V-8 and this is as reported by Crain's Chicago Business. Navistar invested a huge amount of $11 million on designing the particular engine that was built in Europe and will be used overseas but Ford has lost its interest on the engine. Because of the current cash-craving status of Ford, they could not afford to buy the engine so they decided to do the Lion V-8 themselves and they are planning on creating such an engine in its production plant in Mexico which would also be the production place for its Ford body parts and Ford bumpers. However, Ford denies the lawsuit. They say, "Entirely without merit." Ford is facing another trial as they were sued by the Tongan prince's sons over the death of their father. Despite all the positive write ups about Ford, here is another bleak run in that will surely ruin the name of this US car maker. I just hope Ford will get out of this soon. Well all I can say is good luck and I hope you can make it Ford. |

Toyota Reveals New Engine Technology Jun 15th, 2007 6:39:20 am - Subscribe

The news came out last Tuesday, when I ordered my BMW axle online. The Japanese auto makers have released news that they are making a new engine technology that will definitely make a big splash on the diesel market. Yes, the Toyota Motor Corporation will manufacture a new engine technology that will change the image of the previous gas engines. The car maker promised that the new engine technology will be available on its line up of vehicles on or before the decade ends. Toyota decided to revamp the present engine of their cars to improve the mileage of their vehicles. TMC did not mention the details of their future engine as well as the transmission but it is clearly obvious that the Japanese car maker is doing all their efforts to lead the different car makers in building new engine parts for their vehicles. They believe that not everybody can afford to buy hybrid cars, so I guess they have made an option for the car buyers if they choose to use diesel engines. In this case, the DaimlerChrysler AG also does have the new Phoenix family which are all V6 units. According to some surveys posted on the net, there will come a time where diesel engines will be a component of the future cars and Toyota is just but ready for that time. TMC introduces the "Valvematic", a next generation engine valve mechanism that has an improved 5-10% fuel efficiency and also has the capability to reduce CO2 emissions that boosts the output of the engine by 10% or more. The automaker added, "Introduce Valvematic shortly, starting with a new vehicle model featuring a 2.0-liter engine." The new Valvematic will be using gasoline as a fuel and do not pay attention much on green concerns but, according to the automaker, the new engine has "enhancing acceleration responsiveness.” The Japanese automaker said, "While conventional engines control air intake using a throttle valve, Valvematic adjusts the volume of air taken in by continuously controlling the intake valve lift volume and timing of valve opening and closing. This ensures optimal performance based on the engine's operational condition, thus helping vehicles achieve both high fuel efficiency and dynamic performance." Toyota is ready for the new generation, whether if the hybrid cars or the diesel using cars will be famous. Toyota is giving you a new engine to compete with the demands on the market. The car maker is actually making engines with a better mileage and the one that could really triumph in the competition. |
