Japanese auto makers are the leaders when it comes to hybrid cars. The Toyota Motor Corporation and the Honda Motor Corporation are two among the largest suppliers of hybrid cars not only in the US but also in the entire world. Then here comes the Prius which was the most famous hybrid car of all time.
Truly, the world is going crazy over hybrid cars. But just as some may be so into it, others may prefer the conventional kind of cars because of their practicality. We can never deny that hybrid cars come with almost twice the price of these conventional vehicles, not to mention the price of the ethanol or the hydrogen fuel which is definitely high. This is why some car manufacturers choose to build two versions of the models that they currently manufacture. Some car makers are also making quality engine parts for their vehicles that are not as expensive as the hybrids but also perform almost with the same real time fuel efficiency.
Just like Mazda. The Japanese automobile manufacturer is doing a new engine that can compensate to the stricter fuel emission standards. The new MZR 1.3-liter Miller-cycle engine will soon be available on the upcoming Mazda2/Demio. It will also be linked to the auto maker’s first constant variable transmission.
According to the Japanese auto maker, the new upcoming Demio will soon rock the showrooms in July as it wears the newest MZR 1.3-liter Miller-cycle engine on its hood. It can produce a real time fuel economy of 54 mpg with great improvement of like 20% as compared to the 45-mpg rating of the previous model.
With the availability of the new Miller-cycle engine on the Demio, it means that the vehicle gets the green tax exemption of Japan. Mazda did not announce the specs and the pricings for the new car and its parts but I guess the new auto part needs a supercharger as required by the Miller-cycle engine.
Aside from the new powertrain installed on the new car model, the Demio is boasting of 220 pounds of lightness as compared to its previous model. Like the BMW catalytic converter, the new Demio will also have this car part so they could really perform its best in terms of fuel consumption.
Mazda is also thinking about giving the customers what they need and what also fits their budget.
