The Saab 1.8t BioPower Engine

Saab Automobile's latest BioPower concept is now available under the hood of all 9-3 entry-level luxury cars including the Sport Sedan, SportCombi and Convertible models. With the availability of the 1.8t BioPower engine in Saab 9-3 models, customers will have an extended choice of the efficient BioPower models. The 1.8t BioPower engine offers an increased output and performance along with cleaner emissions on the exhaust pipe.
Surprisingly, using the E85 ethanol fuel, the 1.8t BioPower engine pumps out an increased output, 17% more horsepower and 10% more peak torque compared to the conventional petrol gasoline.

The 1.8t BioPower engine is also equipped with Saab's advanced powertrain equipments like the Trionic 8 engine management, turbocharger and intercooler, Direct ignition system, multi-point fuel injection, and electronic throttle control.
