Ferrari 308 is popularly known as an Italian sports car that is considered to have an enormous boost of power compared to Ferrari 328. Manufactured outside of Modena and Maranello, the Ferrari Company was founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929. The 308 is thought to be as one of the fascinating vehicles to drive and own during the 1970's, offering tiny standing for fan drivers and more on free trouble ownership. It easily became one of the beef and potatoes cars in the marketplace for the Ferrari Company during its time. Initially the 308 was made from fiber glass, and was later switched to metal construction in 1977. Today, the fiber glass models are in heavy demand due to their lightness which brings faster speed. Also the engines of the 308 are not actually affected by the sapping of power brought by the exhaust because of their metal construction.
There are essentially 2 types of Ferrari 308. The Ferrari GTB and the GTS, each with their own unusual features but still has the same 308 basic features. The 308 GTB is blessed with V8 from the recently-launched 308 GT4, this came to be known as Ferrari's first ever fiberglass car. In fact it took the company less than two years and 712 car constructions before the first 308 was born. The 308's acceptance grew terribly fast and its demand became extraordinarily high due to its cheap price and lightness, it was also awfully cheaper and much faster to reproduce.
The number 30 stands for the engine size of the car. To be more definitive it was really 2926cc or 2.926 liters, and was then rounded. The number eight stands for the dimensions of the cylinder, so if mixed together, the number 308 is made that means the Ferrari 308 has a 3 liter capacity with V8 engine.
