Christopher Poehlmann strives to produce aesthetic solutions for the furniture and lighting markets by practicing his unique brand of minimalism. An independent studio furniture and lighting designer, Poehlmann is widely recognized within the furniture industry- an industry dominated by corporate manufacturers.

While Poehlmann takes the modern manifestos of his design heroes into consideration during the design process, his innovative designs are retro to the degree that they are inspired by modern ethos, yet are created to meet the demands of their own time.

Environmental concerns and quality control are two current factors, which Poehlmann strives to accommodate in his work. To minimize the waste inherent in furniture and lighting production, he uses, post consumer materials as frequently as possible to maintain the best quality control. Christopher signs and dates each item produced in his studio.
