#12 - HOw the buck banged and killed my wallet.

just came back from Best Denki... with a hire-purchase order waiting to be approved for an NEC laptop.

Yeah, it looks nice and its reasonably priced... but being the impoverished person that I constantly am, it's still killing my wallet. and while i don't regret deciding to fork out $220 per month for a year for a laptop... it still doesn't make... Read More

#11 - Bang for buck laptop.

Came to realisation that I desperately need a laptop or at least a working computer for my own. Told mom about it today when I made my daily phone call to let her know that her eldest daughter wasn't languishing on campus. She offered to ask Dad for help so I could get a laptop at a corporate discounted price. Not that I don't appreciate the offer.... Read More

#10 - Settling down isn\'t all that its cracked up to be.

finally spent my first night in my dorm room. Kept waking up in the middle of the night - probably because I wasn't used to the room yet. My roommate's a late sleeper so I have to get used to sleeping in a semi-lighted room... I'm the sort that sleeps in complete darkness and I'm a pretty light sleeper so any sort of noise or mild light is enough t... Read More

#09- Martha Stewart Living

Went to IKEA today to scout some stuff for the dorm room. After that, went to DAISO to buy super cheap stationery and toiletries so that I wouldn't have to lug anything to and fro.

Found this charcoal based cleansing mask that I found rather intriguing. Marissa, my sis, works at DAISO on weekends so she told me that the charcoal facial cleansin... Read More

#08- Time to build some redundancy into the system.

Went to school todayby public transport despite the fact that Isnis offered me a ride to campus so early in the morning. I didn't want to trouble him... esp with his programme being so intensive and everything. Plus, my day started about an hour earlier than his. Would rather he had that extra hour resting and getting ready instead of just sending ... Read More

#07 - Welcome to Hall 11, home of the brave.

I really wanted to write about my first day of dogdging lectures, skipping stuff that didn't mean anything and blowing it all off so I could go off and have lunch with my bunch of course mates.

But I went to collect my dorm keys today and I just had to simply put these up. I don't know whether to be glad to have moved out or sad that my room is ... Read More

finally broke the news to the folks that i got the letter from the hall of residence last night. mom and dad took it rather calmly... in their own way of course. mom was crying over her breakfast and dad promptly asked me to move my stuff out of mystudytable so that my brother could use it for his own room downstairs.

its funny how people react ... Read More

Let's see. System check.

I'm feeling slightly better. Maybe because I got more sleep than I had expected.

Borrowed H2G2 from the library to read it. Wanted to see how different to book was from the movie. I know. Should have read the book first but I really, REALLY wanted to see Marvin the depressed robot. Plus, it looked like a really good d... Read More

The computer's finally up and running. Normally, I'd blog from home but the connection's still down and I can't resist using Isnis's so-much-better computer.

Plus, it has been ages since I blogged.

At any rate, have a long day ahead of me. Going with 17 other teachers to chaperone 180 11 yr-olds via MRT to City Hall. I don't know how we're... Read More

#03- Hello, Mr. Gaiman.

Going off to meet Neil Gaiman in the flesh in a matter of hours. The last time I met an author I liked was when I was 14 and went for a workshop with Paula Danziger.

Its like going to a rock concert.

I'm like majorly in awe.

Wondering if I can still get a copy of Endless Nights for him to autograph.

And batteries, if they allow cameras.... Read More
