I decided to have a BBQ to celebrate my eighteenth birthday, which was on Thursday. Having not actually had a party since my tenth I decided I would invite as many people as possible. Regardless of the small circle of friends I know being miniscule in relation to other people, twenty people seemed an enormous amount of people to have, at my house as well as around twenty family members also invited. After calling everyone from college up, which took a lot of bravery - me being nervous on the phone, and having only just got used to the idea of talking to anyone for more than a minute - and inviting a few people from my old school, I re-rang them again about a week later, or not if they had already declined the invitation upon the first invite. When it came to it, nervous as I was, out of about twenty friends, three turned up, which would make sense as a. the weather was not exactly suitable b .it was a Saturday and most of my friends work and c. most people live too far away from me to get down for a couple of hours and go back. Preparation for the party consisted of many journeys to supermarkets and a few hours of organising the house. I managed to finish my room in-time for my brother's friend, Mitch, whom he had invited over to come too, arrived. My room was to be set up for use of the playstation two, with either guitar hero or singstar, however as the USB connecting device is mislaid I merely set it up with room for guitar hero. Mitch got me two bottles of WKD Blue, and I borrowed the mini-fridge from Dave, my brother, but the bottles didn't fit. Food began cooking and more family arrived, as did Charlotte, my friend from old school, who was the first of my friends to arrive. She bought me butterfly stud-earrings. As more people arrived it got much more hectic, more people squeezing into our small house due to the weather and food barely spreading around. I think perhaps having more food cooked in one go may have helped this situation but it couldn't have been helped because of the weather. "Heat waves are great but need showers" "BBQs are better in dry weather!" I got given a locket from Nana Jean, of which can hold two photographs, and she gave me the ring which she had been given by her mother, which has three opals, and diamonds on it. From my dad's side I got a lovely bracelet, vine-like shape with white sparkles, from my cousins Sophie and Jack, and Auntie Beverley and Uncle Christopher. From my mum's side I got a T-link bracelet with matching necklace, with a heart on, from my cousins Charlie and William, and my Auntie Julie and Uncle Colin. As my other friends arrived I received £10 from Lisa and an apology from Jess, who had completely forgotten and was extremely sorry that she had, but I told her not to worry, and that coming was just as good. My other Nan Sheila, on mum's side, did not arrive until around ten in the evening as she had to take granddad George to the hospital as he felt unwell - in-between rushing around ditzily I was asking if there had been any news on how he was doing - but he was okay, renal colic, which from what I could understand meant the he had trapped wind and couldn't pass urine without pain, or break wind. Gross. They had got me a white gold and 9ctgold bracelet. "Too much bling" I also had other people arrive, my dad's friends, of whom I was not introduced, but spoke to briefly in-between moving food inside from the BBQ. Alison, who used to live in the end house on the farm, no1, came with her children Sammy, 10 and Madison, 5 -in august, and her boyfriend Garry, who got on great with my Uncle Colin. They brought me a dreamcatcher-windchime which was beautiful and purple. Everybody seemed to have enjoyed themselves, even if during parts of the party it was quiet and people sat and ate in silence. After mum and dad, Leigh and Richard, had left to collect granddad from hospital, Mitch and Dave decided to drink some more. According to Mitch, "Dave can't handle his drink" and he drank a little bit too much and got stroppy, but Mitch helped me tidy up the house and the garden, which had been left in a mess. I figured if mum and dad were to come home and find they had to clear up all the mess they would be annoyed, so together we managed to clear up the bulk of it. Having tidied most of the house yesterday, I was able to chill today, but having got my body-clock back in routine, I was awake by eight-ish. I helped myself to a bacon roll, and made some icing, as what remained on the cake board had been licked at by the dogs, Biscuit and Ichabod. Pippa, my sister, and her boyfriend, Ben were already up and had eaten bacon too, but Ben wanted icing, as did I so I mixed up a small portion each to eat plain. "Sugar is good" Both Mitch and Ben had spent the night, whereas the other guests had left. Both stayed all day today, Mitch till five rocking on guitar hero and playing insane aquarium, and Ben hanging with Pippa until nine. "Film Four is now FREE!" Pippa and Dave have their last days at school before they break up for the summer tomorrow, in on Monday and Tuesday. I finished college at the end of June, but I’ve been helping at a local school, in the Reception class, on Mondays and Tuesdays, and chilling the remainder of the week, bar Saturday where I had to work. I work in Lloyd’s pharmacy from 12-5 only on Saturdays, but as I had yesterday off I have to do 9-5 on 29th and 5th. Hopefully I won't get too worn out. Still waiting for my letter of confirmation from the college for the second year of my course. I've done all the work, but one of my assignments is not as good as it could have been. They probably won't come until August, but I must be patient. I can't decide whether to give myself another week to chill, or start getting back into the swing of college work now. I’ve got an assignment to research for, and if the assignment I get back is referred then I'll have to redo that. I think I will try and make a start on it, just in case, if I do decide to start my work this week. "Caravanning in Wales, Oxwich Bay- 21st August - 31st August" Hmmm, perhaps I'd better start. |
Im looking for inspiration. I found this picture and thought it would help.![]() Can't start working on it yet though, as I need to sort out my college work from last year, making sure I can still remember and understand my notes. |

I got started, found all my work from the last year and sorted it out into the right folders. Now I've gotta read through, re-write any illegible parts, and then maybe a bit of lunch. "One month til Wales" A whole month, without interruption except for working on Saturday. As long as I set reasonable targets I should manage to get some college work done ahead of time. Mum is at university for the last few days of her SUMMER SCHOOL. Dad is at work. Pippa and Dave are at school today and tomorrow. Im home alone until about 4pm. Mum and dad are due back between 6 and 7pm. I guess that means I'm making dinner, which is fine, aslong as we have food. *rummages in the freezer* A pizza, which I'll probably have for lunch, sausages, chips, a chicken, vegetarian food, and peas. Plus ice cream and lollies. Not much of a selection... probably sausage and chips then. I think I'll get my pizza cooking, at least I'll be full for a while before I have to worry about cooking dinner. "Colour-coding is convenient" |

Creativity flowing again. 3 sides on the shadow story. As before with other story 'the stones story' i am unsure of ending and as it is based on parts of dreams not all of it makes sense or can bne easily described or explained... but we shall see how it goes. It seems to be proceeding well. In between begining 'shadow story' and continuing, I burnt my hand! Only slightly, but still two small spots of soreness, no bigger than a penny. Cooking sausages on the grill, my first time, I pricked the sausages as was suggested, and the fat dripped out as they cooked. When I removed the grill tray the handle was hot and I dropped it making hot fat spit out and sprinkle my clothes and my limbs, fortunately only two spots of fat caused damage, it could've been an awful lot worse. |

Well mum and dad decided that yesterday was better than any other day to give blood. I said i'd do it when i felt okay about it.... i did, and so i went.... i was fine... they did the finger prick thing... that was fine... she poked the needle in... i winced but was fine.... i watched the blood go out the tube... and was fine i rested... i was asked to sit up and was fine.. i walked across the room.. sat down and guzzled a glass of water..... i reached for another and went blurry... "im going blurry.... its all going blurry" someone shouted out cold square! - (cold compress) i was on a bed and had my legs in the air.... wet cloths on me and people asking me stupid questions..... who am i where am i? well they know that! duh and i knew too... id only gone blurry not unconscieous although tchnically i could have gone unconscious and not realised.... anyway... i was lying on the bed and was fine... lay there for a while... probly 30 mins... or so.... and kept getting checked up on.... the nurse guy scared the hell outta me though.... cos he said they have a code for fainting... 01, feeeling lightheaded, 02, fainting, blurry etc.... and 03 which was unconsciousness and he said that if i gave blood again, that it could lead to a serious 03 now im not scared easily by most things.. but mention of death and im SCARED... i dont like the idea of dying and being an emotional wreck quite often i burst into tears shortly after he left me.....i started crying... Im not going to give blood again... 1 because he scared me about the risks and 2.... i DONT WANT TO DIE!
