So this is a review of some things Ive been following whether it be in the news, the music scene and just through the underground.

First off let me say that the President of the US of A has one hell of a job and a road to climb to get his country even close to a normal state. I mean, Bush really screwed up the system so any good that he can do while Obama is in power is fantastic. Ok, now that I got that off my back lets move right into the Olympic games that will be sweeping our province and ridding its deficit? Right? Wrong! This whole bullshit campaign with the games might be great for a short-term project, but once everyone packs up and leaves the city and its facilities we’re going to have even more bills to pay off and not to mention, we could have been plotting proper uses of government power to get us above water again. It will be great to know that on one side of the city we have our olympic athletes and on the other, a history of poverty-stricken street life that has been given little to no attention and will continue to be ignored because it’s the easy way out.

Now onto the music scene. It seems rap has taken a turn for the worst. It’s not about quality, it’s more about quantity. I haven’t heard an intuitive beat other that Thunderheist, MIA or Dizzee Rascall. But those are personal preference. I’ve been a huge fan of hip hop, especially late 80’s to Tupac’s death. It was about fighting with words and providing the lyrics that spoke truth instead of lyrics about buying big cars, getting the girl with the biggest booty or shooting up some other rapper because of a lame feud.

And don’t get me started on the punk/pop scene these days either. It’s unbelievable how much garbage is thrown down our throats about Miley Cyrus, Green Day and Fallout Boys. I miss the days of Smashing Pumpkings era, The Police and most recently, Black Kids where music is portrayed as what it’s suppose to be; honest and well thought out.

But anyways, that’s my two cents.

So Halloween is officially over. I was dressed as a pre vampire state human, meaning I was bitten but was not fully converted to a vampire. Bloody shirt, single trickle of blood from the mouth, and ductape keeping my bite from gushing even further into the night on the neck, and let me tell you, it hurt to get that thing off.

Was at a party filled with, well, lets say people. Some good, some not so good. One bad prank and lots and lots of tipsy curvy sauce. But I was proud of myself tonight for not drinking. Because I love Halloween so much I wanted to make sure I would have a memorable night and it was awesome. After the party we decided our dancing shoes fit and hit up a local dance club who shall remain nameless because I hate branding in blogs.

Anyways, to end on a positive note, Life right now is at its peak for me. I am motivated in school, love the fact that I get stoked whenever I listen or play music and I’m always willing to try things, new or old, as many times possible. Its like the famous mountain bike stunt man, Josh Bender said, “Lifes too short not to go big, gotta go big”.
