I signed up to YouTube a number of months ago to see how well I could do. My user ID on there is:
I'm going to follow my progress on YouTube. So here goes.
I started on there a few months ago, and things are going quite well so far.
So What do I do. Well. I looked at other people singing on there and noticed a lot of them just sitting in front of a webcam singing, so I decided that's how I would do things for the most part.
I've sung many songs in the past so I'm going to eventually have quite a selection of me singing other peoples songs. I will also be putting my own songs up too!.
My first vocal adventure was a great old Joe Cocker song called "You are so beatiful". You can watch it here:
If you've got time, then pay a visit to my channel where I've got a good collection of videos, and growing. I welcome comments.
Well. Until the next post!!!
So on to the second video I uploaded on Youtube. I got some nice comments on the first one, though the first comment was my first hater. Probably from a child. Though I wasn't deterred. I've seen a real variety of performances on there. From pretty damn good to absolutely dire!
I'm going to be posting up all the videos so far, and then I'll keep updating every time I upload a new one. So I'm playing catch up at the moment.
You can see all the videos I've done so far by going to my channel. The link is below:
In the first video I didn't really like where I had the camera pointed, so I've moved it. There's a nice view of my stairs. Well, now you know I don't live in a bungalow.
The second video I uploaded to Youtube is from a band whose music I admire. R.E.M. The song is called (Losing my religion). See what you think of my attempt at it:
There are so many songs that I have sung in the past, and It's difficult to choose which one I want to do next. I've got too much choice!!.
That's about it for now. I'll be posting again soon. If you can't wait then go and take a look at my Youtube channel. The link is near the top of the post.
All the best.
I wanted to do a more recent song for the third video, so I chose Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.
I got hold of a couple of their CDs in the last few years. I liked quite a few of the tracks that they produced, but this particular song stood out. I went out and sang it on Karaoke a few times and got some really positive feedback from the drunken masses. Well, I was happy with that. This one seemed like a good option for my third video.
At this point I was starting to get a little bothered about the sound levels in my videos. They were far too low, though my comments were still good, and I was still getting new subscriber. Nobody was leaving.
Anyway. You can check it out if you wish.
That's number three out of the way
My fourth number uploaded to Youtube is a great song by a band I love. Coldplay. It's a song called Dont Panic from their album Parachutes.
This was the first Coldpay CD I bought. The best tracks on the album, in my opinion are Don't panic, Trouble and Yellow.
So on to the song itself. It's quite a short song, but as with most coldplay songs. They created such a rounded sound with quite a simple setup, and Chris's vocals are very expressive.
The sound on this one is quite low as well, but you can get a good idea if you turn the levels up.Down to business. This is my rendition of Don't panic.
And here ends the post for my fourth video
In 1974, Charles Aznavour had a number one hit in the UK with a song called She. It was playing all over the place. It was well liked. Obviously, as it was number one, but I didn't like it very much at the time. It was a bit too slushy for me.
That was until 1999 when Elvis Costello did a cover version of it. I liked the sound of Elvis Costello's voice, and maybe, just ,maybe, my musical tastes had changed over time. Not likely. It didn't make me love the Charles Aznavour version.
Which led me to doing a version of the song, but more in the style of Elvis Costello.
So here it is. My take on the song.
This one went down quite well on Youtube. Made me happy anyway
That about wraps it up for this post. So until the next one
