jeffstunes Transform faces. - Subscribe

I was watching a T.V. program hosted by Graham Norton some time ago. and he went on a website that transformed faces into different ages and races. Such as a child and an East-Asian. All you have to do is upload a picture of you, and you are ready to transform. I didn't hesitate to do it myself, and put the resulting images on my Youtube channel.

I made the video a challenge to other Youtubers. Requesting that they do exactly the same as me with their own pictures. Then post their video as a response to mine. That way, we could have a collection of funny faces all in one place.

This video was a slideshow, so I dug out a song I wrote a few years back, to use as the backing. The name of the song is "I understand". That way I could show another of my unheard songs, whilst having fun at the same time.

Check out my video to see what happened to my photo:

As per usual. Here are some Youtube numbers.

My subs have breezed past the 600 barrier and are now 605.

My channel viewings are 12,798.

Total video views are 186,136. So close to 200k now. It's looking like it might pass that figure in the next few weeks.

jeffstunes A new song from me. Oct 9th, 2009 12:03:17 am - Subscribe

I was busy writing another song when this one popped into my head. So I halted progress on the initial song to develop it. It's a song called "Broadcast fantasy".

Well, i've recently gone past a two year membership on Youtube, and at the end of my first year I wanted to upload a song in celebration, and this one seemed perfect. The song is an amusing poke at addiction to television. As Youtube is all about videos, it seemed the perfect choice.

The style of this song is again different from my previous compositions. I think this one sits more in the pop arena.

I hope you enjoy it like I did:

I put this video up less than a day ago, and the reaction so far is excellent. The daily honours have been building nicely happy.gif

So back to the numbers. Here's the Youtube latest.

I've now got 639 subscribers on my Channel.

The channel itself has been viewed 13,842 times, and all of my videos have received a total of 205,218 viewings.

I'm aiming to make the song I was originally working on, my next upload. Though I have a habit of changing my mind at the last minute happy.gif

jeffstunes No surprises Oct 9th, 2009 10:52:24 pm - Subscribe

I decided to take a few days out from making my album, and I got around to recording one of the songs that was requested quite a while ago. It's a song I really wanted to do because it seems a very simple song, but it's quite vocally expressive. The song I'm talking about is "No surprises" by "Radiohead".

The video I made for it was pretty simple. I'm just sitting in and out of a shadow, through the entire song. The video of the original is just the man's face in what looks like a space helmet, filling up with water. I didn't use any water though.

Instead, I decided to think about different events in my life while singing, so my facial expressions would go through subtle changes.

Here is the result:

The latest numbers on my Youtube account.

677 subs.

14,891 channel viewings.

224,885 total video viewings.

That's all until the next time happy.gif

jeffstunes Til you bleed her dry Oct 15th, 2009 12:08:55 am - Subscribe

I'm going to step back in time a bit with 3 selected songs I wrote when I first started recording seriously.

A few years ago I wrote and recorded 9 songs in about two weeks with a very talented guy called "Mick Paul".

Mick is an excellent bass player and has done a lot in his career to date. He also owns his own recording studio, and this is where those 9 songs were recorded.

I've selected 3 of those 9 songs to put on youtube, and this one is the first of those choices.

This one is called "Amber falls". It's a pretty dark song. I wonder if you can work out what the song is about, before the video tells you near the end.

Here it is:

I have put some snippets of info about Mick in this first video, and I will be adding more to the following 2 videos. There may be a name or two that some music lovers might recognise.

I added a warning in the video description of this particular song, because the song has what is known as "Speaker busters". They are very deep and loud bass hits, that can possibly cause some damage to a bass speaker when it's on high volume. I just thought I'd let you know that. happy.gif

Now for some youtube food.

I only need another 10 subs to get to 700. So the current figure is 690.

The channel viewings have increased to 15,424.

The overall video views are up to 235,621. The way things are going, I might hit the quarter million by the first year anniversary of my first video upload.

Coming next is the second of these three old original songs.

jeffstunes The closer that I get Oct 20th, 2009 1:45:48 am - Subscribe

This is the second of three songs written by Mick Paul and I several years ago, that I have selected to upload. Ths one gives you a taste of Mick's bass skills. I wanted acoustic guitar and Bass only in this, and I think it turned out very well. The vocals drift off key in a couple of places. This song, and most of the others written with Mick. were written hours before they were recorded, so I'm not really surprised at the mistakes.

The song is about a very dark subject, though I'm not going to tell you here. You'll have to watch the video to discover it. I reveal the meaning near the end of the video. It gives a completely new angle on the words.

Returning to Mick. Here is some information on the history so far of this very talented guy:

He performed on 2 singles in 1970.

He joined "The Hotshots" in 1973. They got to number 4 in the british chart with one of their releases.

Joined "Union express" in 1974 and toured around Europe for 2 years.

From 1978, did session work for the BBC and various publishers.

Did a stint as an in-house bass player at Abbeydale studios in West London.

He co-wrote the Labour Party campaign song in 1987.

Joined "More tea vicar in 1990.

Wrote and played on a single called "Aquarius" for Yello records, which was produced by Tyrrell.

He played bass on the "David Hasselhoff" single "If we could only say goodbye" (Yes. It's The Hoff).

and more..

I'll provide a link to his recording studio website:

Froosound Recording Studio

Mick is the person doing all the music in this song. He also did the music for the song in the previous post, and the next post I do.

Anyway. This one is called "Losing my mind". I hope you enjoy it, and the Bass happy.gif

Now for the Youtube stuff.

Subs are up to 692.

Channel views are now at 15,540.

The overall vid views are 237,970. Almost at a quarter of a million. climbing at about a thousand views a day.

Next up is the third and final upload of my three old original songs.

I was still beavering away on my album around this time. I had a song in my head, as I was waking up. A strange way to discover a song, but I thought it was very good. So I put it together to see what it sounded like, and if it was good enough, it would go on the album.
