Lymphoma is a type of cancer that can be cured in many individuals which provides a ray of hope for those who have been diagnosed with such an illness. The way in which lymphoma patients are treated in order to eliminate the cancer varies depending upon the type of lymphoma which one is diagnosed, what stage an individual is in and the individual themselves. In general, lymphoma patients may receive chemotherapy and radiation treatments. As the scientific community performs research and develops new treatment methods, the list of treatment options will expand. The following paragraphs will highlight a couple of the current chemotherapy medication options for lymphoma patients.

Chemotherapy Medications
There are various chemotherapy medications which medical health professionals use to help patients recover from lymphoma and have their cancer go into remission. The following are just examples of some of the medications which may be used. As always, individuals should consult with their doctors and specialists to pinpoint the medications which will work best for them in their individual cases. A chemotherapy treatment usually consists of various medications which work together to rid the body of the dangerous cancer cells and the following medications are frequently given to the patient as a regimen.

Cyclophosphamide is one type of medication which may be used by lymphoma patients in their road to recovery. This chemotherapy drug is a DNA-damaging medication which will affect the DNA to prohibit cell growth. Another medication which is given to lymphoma patients is doxorubicin. Doxorubicin is an antitumor antibiotic. This drug will interact with DNA in a direct manner and prohibit the cells from surviving.

Another chemotherapy medication which is often prescribed to the lymphoma patient is vincristine. This medication is one which blocks mitosis and keeps the cancer cells from dividing. This is a way to prevent the cells from multiplying as it impairs the cell structure itself.

Prednisone is an additional medication given to lymphoma patients as part of their chemotherapy treatment. The prednisone is a hormone which works to destroy lymphocytes which are malignant. This is a synthetic type of hormone that is related to the natural hormone known as cortisol.
An additional medication which lymphoma patients receive as part of their chemotherapy treatment is rituximab. Rituximab is a monoclonal antibody that targets and kills cancerous cells. This medication is said to yield fewer side effects for the patient than some other forms of chemotherapy treatments.

Conclusion
Lymphoma is a serious illness where the patient must have the advice of a doctor every step of the way. The medical health professional will weigh all options with regard to chemotherapy medications and discuss with the patient how he/she would like to proceed in order to get to the recovery stage as quickly as possible. The aforementioned medications are just a few of the many options one with lymphoma may have and all options should be discussed with the doctors and specialists who are treating the lymphoma patient to ensure that the best possible outcome is reached.

Three Ways to Forget About Your Lymphoma and Have Fun:

When you are living with lymphoma you just want to take a little time to forget what is going on in your body and around you. You want to have fun with your family like nothing else is going on in your life. What can you do to have that fun and forget about your disease?

Well sit down with your family and figure out what it is that you want to do. There is that vacation that you never got to take with your family and you now what to go. So do it. Go on that trip to the beach or across the world. Enjoy your time with your family without worrying about your disease. Leave it at home and relax. Read that book you have been wanting to read. Watch the kids play at a waterpark or ski down a mountain. You can do whatever you want to do as long as the ones you love are there with you to enjoy every moment.

Maybe you need that trip to yourself. Take a weekend or a week and go somewhere. Relax in a spa retreat. Do nothing but pamper yourself. You deserve it. Take those books you want to read or just watch movies all day. Get a message and go shopping. Eat a fancy dinner and just take it easy.

You don't have to worry about anything but doing what you want to do. It is a good way to have fun and enjoy those things in life that you haven't done in a long time. Feeling good is more than being healthy, its about doing something for yourself and forgetting you have lymphoma.

Then what else is there that you want to do. Maybe you want to go sailing and see what the ocean has to offer you. See all the wildlife that makes up the sea. Go diving and see what lies beneath the surface of that deep blue ocean. Take your family along to see all these wonderful things. Eat a nice dinner on the boat and bond with your family again. You can sail away from all the stress and worry at home. Forget what is going on in the real world and enjoy your time with your family.

There are many things you can do with your time. The sky is the limit, don't worry about anything else but doing one that on your list of things you want to do. If you don't have a list, make one. List all the places or things you want to do and do them one by one. Include your family and all of you can share the memories for a long time afterwards.

There is no time like the present to have fun and do the things that you want to do. Enjoy life, its too short not to. When you leave the house to do these things, leave the fact that you have lymphoma behind as well. You don't need to think about it, just have fun.
