The Bachelor Party of Fun

When a Bachelor party is mentioned, the human mind associates boobs, tits, and beer with the Bachelor party. Well not with my family. I do not care for that junk to happen at a bachelor party, so I chose not to have it at mine. Instead my brother-in-law and best man planned one awesome day. Here is how the day came about.

On Saturday May 27th Leif, David, Sean, Chancey, AJ, Curtis and I left my apartment to head up to Idaho Springs for a Whitewater Rafting trip. An hour or so later we were on the rapids. 8 guys (including the guide Pat) were in the boat and trudging through the cold water of Clear Creek Canyon in Colorado. With a few class 3 Rapids and a few class 4 Rapids we had a blast. The water as flowing at 640 cubic feet per second (I think) and the water level was at the perfect height. Meaning we did not have to dodge rocks and run the risk of getting stuck because the water was too shallow. This made for one awesome trip. The best time to get out on the river is the first few weeks of June. Hopefully next year we do another rafting trip and make whitewater rafting a tradition. Well about an hour or so later we were done with the rafting trip and on our way to a park for lunch.

Once we arrived at the park we ate some chicken that was left over from the White Fence Farm where we had the wedding rehearsal dinner. Well someone thought ahead and brought a Frisbee to throw around. After throwing the Frisbee we decided to get a game of Ultimate Frisbee going on. The teams were 3 vs 4 with Leif, Chancey and Curtis on one team and Sean, AJ, David and I on the other. Well the game ended with a score of 3 to 2 having Leif's team win. Ultimate Frisbee is an awesome game to play and was a blast.

After we had our butts handed to us playing Ultimate Frisbee, we ventured onward to go Go-Cart racing in Erie Colorado. Honestly the people that worked at the Go-Cart place in Erie Colorado were complete jerks. Especially the jerk with the confederate flag tattooed on his arm who attempted to show off his lame wheelie's on a 3-wheeler. At any rate the Go-Cart racing was cool, but I would take White Water Rafting over go-carting any day especially when the people treat you like idiots.

Well after Leif and Curtis had at it head to head at Go-Carting it was time to head over to Lazer Storm for Lazer Tag. We got there and found out we had about an hour wait, so we got some tokens and played the arcades. After about 30 minutes of playing the arcade games, we were able to snatch up the Air Hockey table and had a tournament. Basically the champion held the table until they lost. Well Curtis with standed Leif, Chaney and I. But once AJ started playing him he lost his thrown at the Air Hockey table. Well right after Curtis lost his thrown it was time to play Lazer Tag.

Using the same teams we setup for Ultimate Frisbee we were off to play Lazer Tag. The first game we had our butts handed to us by Leif's team with about a 40 point difference. That was alright because we won the second game (if only by 1 point). During the second match Leif ran straight into a wall that apparently "moved" on him and bruised his eye up. But no worries the game did not even stop for a second, he just stood shocked for a second than started playing again. If there is no blood, what fun is the game?

Well the day ended on an awesome note and the whole day was great. Everything about Saturday went perfect and was a blast. If you ever get a chance to play Lazer Tag, White Water Rafting or go Go-Cart racing, take it.
