Windows 7 64-BIT Driver for M-AUDIO Fast Track Ultra

So I decided to do some gaming today on the PC. I rarely do it...for the fact that I feel that I am ignoring my family while I proceed to frag the opposing team. happy.gif

Well today I found out that on my NEW PC that my M-Audio Fast Track Ultra audio / mini is not supported by Windows 7. I mean, sure I have the RPM and I understand that Windows 7 is not released...but what the heck. Shouldn't it at least work in compatibility mode with Windows XP? Dammit, what luck.

The error message that I receive is: This device is not supported by the Windows Operating System that you are running. Typical Windows error, but that's ok I guess. Seems as though M-Audio is working hard to release the drivers soon.

  6. Name the shortcut 'Shutdown'
  7. Now right click the new shortcut
  8. Properties

david How to Create a System Restore Point in Windows 7 Aug 17th, 2009 9:37:07 am - Subscribe
Entry explains How to Create a System Restore Point in Windows 7. Everyone needs to create a system restore point at least once a week. Here is how to do it.

    1. Go to Start
    2. Right Click on My Computer
    3. Properties
    4. Click on the System Protection Link
    5. When System Properties opens up click create
    6. Name the Restore Point
    7. Wait while the Restore Point is Created
    8. Ok

That's it! The complaint that I usually get from Windows Vista and 7 Users is that many of these system resources can be troublesome to find. Remember that you can always use the search box in your start menu to find windows operations & programs.

Should you have any questions, leave a comment.

You can run Open DNS Updater as a Window Service by doing the following:

    1. Start it as a service with SrvAny.exe. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/137890

    2. Keep in mind you may need to copy the folder and files from: "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\OpenDNS Updater" to the other "user's" home's application data then.

david How to Fix Unable to Install Printer The Print Processor Does Not Exist Jul 30th, 2009 12:46:08 pm - Subscribe
Today we received this issue in our Houston offices, and suprisingly it was pretty easy to resolve. The error message was Unable to Install Printer The Print Processor Does Not Exist.

How to Fix Unable to Install Printer The Print Processor Does Not Exist
Ok obviously you are recieving this error upon the installation of a new or exisiting printer on your local area network, or heck it maybe connected directly to the PC. Well to fix this problem simply uninstall the driver, and then reinstall. You may be prompted during the hardware installation wizard to Use the Existing Driver (recommended) or reinstall the driver. Well, just reinstall it. This will remove, and reinstall the print processor associated with the service / printer.

    To recap go to:
  • Start
  • Control Panel
  • Printer & Faxes
  • Add a New Printer
  • Start Hardware Wizard
  • Reinstall the Printer Driver (do not use existing)
  • Finish the Hardware Wizard
  • Test Print (if you like)

Should you have any issues feel free to collaborate and post them here. Hope this helps!
