Why Yehudim Meshichim PT 1. 11/29/08
By Rabbi Aminadav Ben Avraham Hinton

There are three Hebraic terms in reference to people who follow the messiah

(1.)Ma'Amin B'Moshiach â€" Believer in the messiah
(2.) A loose translation- Mimetes Sham Orach- People of the Way
(3.)Yehudim Meshichim- Jews Messianic

There are two main chapters relating to the subject
Daniel 9.4-27/ Matthew 2.1-33/

I want to uncover an false Christian notion and teaching related to Daniel 9- looking at verse 4-5 and then 25, I have something to show you:

4 I prayed to Adonai my Hashem and made this confession: "Please, Adonai, great and fearsome Hashem, who keeps his covenant and extends grace to those who love him and observe his mitzvahs! 5 We have sinned, done wrong, acted wickedly, rebelled and turned away from your mitzvahs and rulings. 6 We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our leaders, our ancestors and to all the people of the land. 7 "To you, Adonai, belongs righteousness; but to us today belongs shame - to us, the men of Y'hudah, the inhabitants of Yerushalayim and all Israel, including those nearby and those far away, throughout all the countries where you have driven them; because they broke faith with you. 8 Yes, ADONAI, shame falls on us, our kings, our leaders and our ancestors; because we sinned against you

24 "Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and for your holy city for putting an end to the transgression, for making an end of sin, for forgiving iniquity, for bringing in everlasting justice, for setting the seal on vision and prophet, and for anointing the Especially Holy Place. 25 Know, therefore, and discern that seven weeks [of years] will elapse between the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Yerushalayim until an anointed prince comes. It will remain built for sixty-two weeks [of years], with open spaces and moats; but these will be troubled times. 26 Then, after the sixty-two weeks, Mashiach will be cut off and have nothing. The people of a prince yet to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary, but his end will come with a flood, and desolations are decreed until the war is over. 27 He will make a strong covenant with leaders for one week [of years]. For half of the week he will put a stop to the sacrifice and the grain offering. On the wing of detestable things the desolater will come and continue until the already decreed destruction is poured out on the desolater."

We are seeing here in Daniels 9, two formats, one Yeshua is establishing Israel through himself and secondly he is establishing Messianic Judaism- I'll show you that in a second,Daniel is seeing all this unfold well before the time, even how Yeshua and Messianic Judaism encounters persecution and revealing, The text says in vs 25 to discern 70 weeks and 26, speaks of him who is to come, Mashiach Yeshua and how he will be cut off and have nothing, dishonored and crucified -The people of a prince will destroy the city and the holy place but his end will come with a flood (Noah) Daniel was informed that Hashem's program would be consummated in 70 sevens, since Daniel had been thinking possibly of Hashems program in terms of years or sevens (Hep tads) Daniel- seven days are in a week, every seventh year was a Shabbat rest year- Lev 25.1-7 â€" seven sevens brought them to the year of Yovel- Jubilee- Lev 25.8-12- seventy sevens then is the span of 490 years- at the end of the 490 years, Hashem will finish the transgression of Israel, The verb Kala means to bring something to an end, Israels sins of disobedience will be brought to an end at Yeshua's return, when she repents and turns to him as her messiah, Then she will be restored to the land and have shalom and blessings- This is one phase on the equation: In regard to the lesson I'm about to teach, I think the scripture also confirms Yeshua establishing his Messianic Movement as saw in the vision given to Dani'el- The false Christian teaching is Daniel 9 applies to the coming of the church age over Israel, The great Tribulation and rapture of the church- not so at all! It is related Yeshua as proof of his messiahship and ruler over Israel and apart of this messianic movement he started and Daniel sees it in advance, Daniel talked to and foresaw Yeshua

Let's began:

The response to Yeshua Ha'Mashiach among the Jewish community was numerically significance during two periods, The first occurred during the initial four to five hundred years of the common era, Yeshua as the messiah began that first response when the ruach hokodesh came upon the followers of Ha'Mashiach at Shavuot- Feast of Weeks, Pentecost -The Talmidim continued spreading the besora that Yeshua is and was thee final Moshiach, By the 1750's to 1800's â€" many with in the world had accepted the God of the Jews without following the order of the Jews- which would later be called Christianity-The 19th century a good number receiving Yeshua- The 20th century showed demonstrated in the Brit Chadashah The biblical evidence is- Three thousand came to Yeshua in Acts 2.41 Five Thousand men in Acts 4.4 Many Cohanim (Leviticus Priest) Acts 6. 7

Yeshua added to their number Acts 2.41 Many heard and believed in Yeshua Acts 4. again
The number of Talmidim in Yerushalayim increased rapidly Acts 6.7

After some 20yrs Ya'akov and the elders told Rabbi Sha'ul of the thousands who heard and believed Acts 4. again literally myriads or tens of thousands came to Yeshua as believing Jews- Acts 21.20 In Rabbi Shau'ls letter to the Galatians- Brit Chadasha Kehillah of Galatia -possibly written between 48-52- Shau'l spoke of the congregation of Yudea- Gal 1.22 When Rome subdued Jerusalem in year 70, The people of Judea suffered a great lost of the second temple, Nebuchadnezzar 2 of Babylon pillaged the first temple- in 586 BCE- he destroyed it, Yeshua spoke of that destruction of the temple in Luke 21.20-24

When the temple fell many Jews were murdered and the majority of the people ran to pella- east of the jordan river, after CE 70 many Jewish believers in Yeshua returned to Jerusalem and found both leaders and people in despair, How would they be able to worship Hashem without a Beit Ha'Mikdash â€" The leader and Rabbi Yahanon Ben Zakkai arose and sought permission from the roman officials if he could have a Kehillah Torah Study Center- Kehillah Torah Lahag Congregation for Jewish young people in the small community of Yavneh- Greek- Jamnia not far from modern Tel Aviv from 73 to 90- Yohanan Gamaliel 2 and other Jewish leaders met on numerous occasions to restructure a Judaism without Temple worship-So a spiritual vacuum existed in Judea between 70 and 100 and record remain that at that time 20 percent of the nation had accepted Yeshua by CE 100(WOW) -The council of Yavneh took steps to eliminate Jewish believers in the synagogues through the birkat haminim- a derogatory statement directed against them- The fact that this council singled out these believers suggest they may have wanted to create a barrier between themselves and the messianic believers â€"

The Messianic Believers of the first century were called Nazarenes-
Acts 2. 22-47/ Acts 4. 1-37/ Acts 5. 1-39 = The term messianic or messianism which means personal messiah- The anointed one â€" is said to have come from the 19th century polish national movement of Jews for yeshua even before this bit of history, We wore originally called Nazarites, not Christians following Yeshua L'Nazarite- Tertullus- Roman i believe? Referred to Rabbi Shau'l as the leader of these people- But Rabbi Shau'l defined these first century messianic believers first called Nazarites. As followers of the way- Ma'amin B'mashiach -It would really be the initial three point in this study of Hebraic terms- Mimetes- Imitators- Sham- There, The -Orach- Manner of Life, of way being

Mimetes Sham Orach- Acts 22.4/ Acts 24.14-

Ananus the high priest ordered Ya'akov-James brother of Yeshua executed in 62- Simon, son of cleopas- Yeshua's cousin- became the leader of the congregation that was messianic until 107 CE- The last of Yeshua's family to hold the office was Simon who reportedly was 120 years old- He was tortured and put to death-

The second revolt against Rome (132-135) proved even more disastrous than the first revolt (66-70) The Nazarenes-messianic wanted to fight, but another dilemma arose when Rabbi Akiva ( The Jewish well respected rabbi worshiped a man) Rabbi Akiva proclaimed the military leader- Simon Ben Kosiba- to be bar kochba- or son of the star-a conquering moshiach relating him to Numbers 24.17 which says

I see him, but not now, I behold him, But not soon- a star will step from Ya'akov- a scepter will arise from Israel to crush the corners of Mo'av( Central Jordan) and destroy all descendants of shet(Seth) The Nazarenes knew it applied to Yeshua and that Rabbi Akiva blasphemed- Once again The Nazarenes fled to pella and other places east, Africa etc. and the Jewish people felt they betrayed them and they never forgave them, Thus continually down the centuries messianic believers have been cast as Christians, not mentioning they all once served together in the same temple -all proclaiming the same liturgy, prayers, festivals.
What has inspired so many Jewish writers to write against Messianic Judaism- Since the world was in the first century 20 percent Nazarene -Messianic then he would conclude- because the first century Nazarene knew who the moshiach was and is today and have not lifted up men of great zeal over the only final Moshaich -Yeshua Ha'Mashiach
