On January 28th off the coast of Ambon Island(Indonesia)a possiable new species of anglerfish was dicovered. The fish has Tan and white zebra striping and human like eyes(which creates binocular vision)giving it the ability to correctly judge distance. It is also equiped with leglike pectoral fins which it uses to burrow into cracks on the coral reefs in search of food. Instead of swimming this fish crawls! They believe it to be a new family of vertabrate animal. UW Professor Ted Pietsch,(one of the worlds leading authorities on anglerfish)says the fish must undergo DNA testing to prove it is unique, but he says he has never seen anything like it. The fish was first dicovered and photographed by a dive team including Buck and Fitrie Randolph, as well as guide Toby Fadirsyair. Nothing like this fish could be located in any reference book. Since it's first photograph 3 more have been seen. 1 adult and 2 possible offspring. UW says they had discovered that one of the adults laid a massive amount of eggs.
