“Hey Chloe, can I talk to you?” Grace sighed uncomfortable as she watched next to Chloe down the hall. Chloe threw her an unwelcome look. She had never liked Grace. She was one of the ‘popular kids’ here at Mount Rose High School. She had never even looked at Chloe before.
“Sure, but you only got five minuets. I’m late for Chemistry.” Chloe said, stopping and turning so she was standing in front of her. Chloe many not like her much, but she could tell there was something wrong with this girl. Call it intuition, but something was up.
“I need your help. I know we’ve never been much of friends, and we haven’t talked much, but I herd you’re the girl to go to when there is a problem. So here I am.” She sighed. It was obvious to Chloe that this was a last resort.
Chloe gave her a skeptical look. “Sorry Grace, but I’m not doing so good in math these days either. Try the library, they have tutors.” She told Grace, turning around and started to walk towards Mrs. Gilberts Chemistry Class.
“Wait Chloe, this isn’t about homework help. Someone has been stalking me.” She admitted, looking down at her feet. “I found this in my room last week.” She handed Chloe what looked like a manila envelope. Chloe opened it and pulled out a picture of Grace half naked. It looked like it was taken from outside a window. “Flip it over.” Grace encouraged. Chloe did so and written on the back with a thick black marker was a date, 11/29/1955.
“November 29, 1955? What’s that mean?” Chloe asked, flipping the picture over again. It looked pretty armature, but it was obvious this was developed in a darkroom.
“I have no idea.” Grace sighs. “But everyone one I’ve talked to said that you’re the girl for the job. Please Chloe.” Grace begged.
Chloe sighed, not sure yet that taking this case on was such a good idea, not with the whole Michael thing still such a big issue. “I’m not cheep you know. But ill take a look.”
Grace smiled a huge cheerleader smile and gave Chloe a half hug. “I knew I could count on you Chloe. Thanks again.”
“Yeah yeah, now listen; ill meet you in the parking lot after school. And oh yea, I’m going to hang on to the picture.” She nodded one last time to grace, and turned on her heels back towards class. This is going to be one long day, she thought to herself.

“A stalker?” Gorgie asked, looking skeptical at Chloe. “I think she’s making it all up. You know, looking for a little attention from daddy.”
“That’s my guess too. I don’t know, maybe it’s the cheerleading uniform that makes her so untrustworthy. But I told her I would see if I could find anything and I will. Either way I’m getting paid, so it doesn’t make much difference to me. What to help?” Chloe asked of her best friend, Georgina.
Again Gorgie looked skeptical. “Don’t you think its all a waste of time if you find out it was all just a ruse. That there never was a stalker.”
Chloe laughed to herself. “Yeah Gorgie, ill give you a cut of the money if you help.”
“Then count me in.” She smiled at Chloe. “So now tell me your theory, because knowing you there is always a theory.”
Chloe looked thoughtful for a moment. “I’m not sure yet. I have to talk to Grace. I didn’t have much time with her so I never got to ask her if she suspected anyone in particular. But I’m meeting her after school so ill find it all out then. This just seems all so weird. And the date on the back? What’s that all about? From what I figure the date must mean something to the stalker and maybe its means something to Grace too.”
“Well you know what I think, so I don’t ever need to bring it up. But she’s a whiner and a faker. I hate girls like that.”
