I love these weeks I get to spend with Michael. He is so sweet. He is funny too. He is working two jobs, one for his dad's business and the other at Johnny Rockets here in Olympia, and he comes home every night complaining about how much his feet hurt and stuff. It's pretty funny. He makes me laugh. His mom and I both tell him to stop whining about it so much lol.
It is funny. But yeah, he's cute.
He bought my engagement ring. I think he's proposing this next week! It's exciting! The ring isn't in his possession though, because they had to ship my size from another store. I just hope it gets here before I leave lol. I know he wants it to.
Anyway, I just love spending time with him. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to spend too much time with him because he's been working so much, but that's okay, I understand. He makes a ton of money in tips though, so it's really nice.

Today Michael and I visited an old friend of their family. She is an older lady who lost her husband a few years ago and Michael has worked for her doing yardwork and handywork for quite a few years, and I had yet to meet her. So today, we took her out to lunch at his mom's restaurant, and it was great fun. We talked a lot, and then we went back to her house where Michael worked outside for a bit and she and I stayed inside and talked. Her dog liked me, which is rare for him to like a stranger. He doesn't like Michael. Anyway, we started talking and she showed me all sorts of old pictures and stuff, and pictures of her kids, and at the end she pronounced me a keeper. happy.gif She really liked me. She even said "I know he wants to have you around." (referring to Michael) "but I'd like to take you home with me!" It was super cute, and she is super cute. happy.gif
I loved her, and it will be fun to visit her again in a couple weeks. I am excited to spend time with her again. She is a sweetheart. happy.gif

It's been awhile...

Well, it has been quite awhile since I last wrote...about 3 months actually.
Life has been good lately. Since I last wrote, Michael and I have celebrated a third and a fourth month anniversary, and we are about to celebrate our fifth month. happy.gif
I also have the wonderful opportunity to be a contestant in the Miss Oregon pageant. I am very very excited about it, and I have been working out like crazy in preparation. It will be fun.
Right now I am in Olympia, WA, to spend the week with Michael and his family. We thought it was a good time because we get to spend the fourth of July together. And it even turns out that he doesn't work, so we actually will get to spend it together! It will be very wonderful. happy.gif I don't know if we will see any fireworks, because the city fireworks are tonight, and Michael doesn't get off work until ten or ten thirty, so yeah...anyway...it will be really cool.
It has been nice to spend time with Michael. It is nice to have a week off so far too. It will be nice to have the rest of the week with him. I can't wait.
Tonight we went to his restaurant for dinner and it was funny because he waited on us, and had to be all professional, but he was still cute. I love the way he looks at me, because I can tell how much he loves me just by how his eyes look when he looks at me. happy.gif It makes me smile and makes me so happy!
I chose our song on the jukebox though, I hope it played at some point during the night, because the letters were off, and someone finally figured it out, so I had to push the buttons again on it so it would play the right one. Anyway...it was fun though. Then his parents and I went shopping at Steve and Barry's because they have some cute stuff and it is really decently priced. I want to go back with Michael though, because I want him to see the jeans I tried on...I can't decide whether to get them or not. They were cute, but I'm not sure if I should get them or not. Anyway...that's an update on that...and I'm just going to keep working out and such until the pageant, which is in November. Until then, i'll workout and enjoy the time I have with my love. happy.gif

Home again home again...

Well, it has been quite awhile, and I have been home from Utah for a few weeks. I know that perhaps my blog has offended a few readers...at least one has made it obvious. I am here to correct any misconceptions about our mission in Utah.
We are not Anti Mormon. We did not distribute Anti Mormon literature. We simply distributed material that would allow people to see the truth of two different ideas and compare them to decide for themselves which they would want to believe in. We did not mean to be offensive or to make people mad. We simply wanted to make it possible for people to question and decide for themselves rather than just believing everything the church tells them.
See, for me, what I believe is very personal. Many many many sources say what I believe is true, and that fact has been affirmed over and over again all around me. God makes himself evident in the way that he has shown himself to me, and has affirmed that what I believe about him is true. I have searched it out for myself, and I do not take just anything my pastor says for truth without careful study and research. I don't simply take the words of others and take them as truth. I just wanted others to be able to do the same thing. Many people don't have that opportunity, as they are not allowed to question their faith. We just wanted to make it possible for that to happen.
Anyway...just wanted to clear things up.
On a lighter note, it is a beautiful day here in sunny Oregon (for the time being) and Michael and I are celebrating our 2 month anniversary today. *sigh* Life is so good right now. I am pleased to be where I am in life, and happy with what is going on in life. I am in love, and couldn't be more in love...except for tomorrow I am sure I will be, because I fall more in love with Michael every day. But other than that...anyway....yeah, life is great.

So...I know I didn't write yesterday...I responded to e-mails all day from people respnding to the DVD. I actually had one e-mail that encouraged me a lot. We were recieving the e-mails through the UPFC website, and answering them the same way. This guy wrote very respectfully and very kindly about his contrasting beliefs. I responded back to try to witness to him, and he responded back again in the same way. At this point, I figured we didn't need to go through the group website anymore, and gave him my school address. So now he has e-mailed me at that address and I am very excited to continue corresponding with him. happy.gif
I have recieved two e-mails back from people I responded to, and it is exciting to know that they might want to continue correspondance. eep.gif)
Michael was also able to go to the Institute yesterday and go to a class that was taught on Galatians (one of his favorite books), and was again able to talk to the professor. He was VERY excited about it, and was very tired afterward. eep.gif)
But he had a good time.
Then today we went to Salt Lake City because we were going to visit Uncle Donny and Grandpa, and we went all over just taking tours and being really nice so we wouldn't get kicked out, and it was really fun. So then we went to visit Uncle Donny and Grandpa and Donny took us (Michael and I, Gloria and himself) out to a really nice Italian lunch, and then we went to visit Grandpa in the hospital, and we sat there for about two hours, then we went back to Salt Lake and walked around more, and went to the distribution center and bought a Temple magazine thing in German, because we had already bought the Book of Mormon in German earlier at the Museum of Church History.
It was really fun, and we had a lot of fun walking around the buildings and history museum and stuff, and I got a lot of great pictures, a lot better than the pictures I had before of the temple and such. eep.gif) I even got a picture of the security guard that held Michael and the other guys back as they talked to Russ and kicked us out. Yeah, it accidentally ended up looking like a posed wedding photo. It's his back, and he's walking away, and he didn't even know I was taking a picture of him, but it ended up being really funny.
It was great when we talked to Sister Kleiner, and her two friends that were with her one at a time during the day. It was great and we had a good conversation without confrontation. It was really cool. I am excited because we are going back to Temple Square tomorrow and we might even get to see her again. AND! They're sending missionaries to my house with a conference copy of the Ensign. I am sooooooo excited to talk to them! Especially after this trip when I have all the resources and such. I am excited to study up and learn more so I am more prepared.
I can't wait!
I am excited to see what Gordon B. Hinckley says in response to the DVD's we passed out too, if he says anything. He has to have seen the news clip where he was quoted, so I'm expecting him to say something.
I really can't wait to come back here next year. I love our group and how tight-knit we've become, and how organized we've been in doing what we need to do and it has been great!
I am pretty sad actually that it is our last day. I want to be here a little longer. I mean, it is good that we are going back, because obviously I have things to do at home, and so does Michael and I would only really like to be here longer if Michael could be here longer, so that wouldn't really work out...but anyway...
I can't wait to go back home and share all of these experiences with people in person, because some of them are SOOOOO funny!
Love you all!
