Homosexual marriage.

Okay, so, I'm not exactly for it, but I am more so than against.

My mom is watching some debate show and I caught a bit of it, and they were discussing gay marriage.

Anyways ...I know me writing about this may annoy a few people, since they need to hear my opinion unable to state theirs (I guess that's what comments are for), but it frustrates me when I read something I really disagree with, which I know people will.

But, I think, sure "love is love," but that's too simple. I don't think of it that way. Love wasn't made for a certain sex, but nor was it made for everyone. I am all for the tradition male/female relationship, I prefer it. But hey! People are gonna do what people are gonna do. Stopping the homosexuals from marriage is just cruel and rude. I think a more important issue is people marrying 5 or 6 times, that's far worse!

And, when it comes to gay marriage, the only argue I've heard against it is "it's against the bible!," "It's just not right!"
Umm ..facts?

Banning it or making it illegal will not solve anything! If two people are in love, whether they are the same sex, they should be allowed to create something so great (be it just a paper signifying marriage or rings), but let them do it for THEMSELVES!
If you are against it, it isn't affecting you unless you let it!
I don't think homosexuals should go around parading their love on the streets ...
But, hello! Nor should straight people.
Two people kissing is two people kissing.

There are FAR more important issues needing to be addressed that everyone should be focused on!

  • Child Pronography.
  • Teenage Mothers.
  • Rape.
  • Child Molesting

The list goes on and on.
My point is, government does NOT belong in the churches. Government should NOT force religion on every citizen because thats what they believe. They should stick with what they SHOULD stick with.
Let the churches deside whether or not they find it okay in their religion.

No one should run other peoples lives and choices.
Get some priorities.

No one take this personally, I am not for or against either of these things ...I just speak from what I have heard and what makes sense to me. I don't want to change anyones opinon ...just a topic that bothers me, the way people react.

Lastly, I do think it's kind of wrong to bring a child into a family with two mothers or fathers ...if they want to have children, they should deal with that and a child may not want that.
As in, it should only affect the lovers, not the others.

i personally am for it, but more in the way that i agree with you... it needs to be settled and put aside, because we have huge problems in our country that are being ignored. so, yeah, i agree.

im deffinately for gay marriage but i do agree with you when you say that it shouldn't be an open thing. the same goes with straight marriages. its not a show. love shouldn't be something we see on the street. it needs to be just something between two people. not the whole world.but you're right about the other issues that need to be dealt with. it completely bringing everything down. I just with the government would look and see whats going on around here

Ay...tough subject. I believe in love. I think that everyone should be able to have love. I do beleive that certain body parts were made for certain functions. So what I have to say is this. Most gay marriages are in an attempt to gain the privileges other married couples recieve. Like visitation when the loved one is hospitalized, or making desicions about life support, wills, and such stuff as that. But I think anyone should be able to get that unification under the government. Now the marriage part is up to the church. Marriage was an act of religion to begin with, so gay marriage really isnt possible because it well....just isnt supported within its own origins. Now civil union, go for it guy and gals. I reall don't care if you love each other...It's just that when the time comes, and judgement is passed, lets just hope hes changed with the times and is more accepting of homosexuality, or maybe hope that it was a typo in the bible, or someone who didnt like gays added that in there for his own purposes. But seriously, who said all the respected writers for the bible didnt add some of their own thoughts to it...now ponder that one little boys and girls.

You are living in such a funny country, our first gay marriage was in 1991....oh, and we still got a christ party, but they couldnt hide from alteration.

And the USA really looks weird for a European with all your christ stuff, weapon laws, boot camps, death penalty, sexual harassment.

I even cant count the amount of female breasts on our tv per day and your folk is fucking scared about one on a single broadcast :-)
