mdeleon An Xbox for Xmas - Subscribe
I bought myself an Xbox and some other things for Christmas. I just got it yesterday and I also got Need for Speed Underground and my favorite game NBA Live 2005.

I've been playing it quite a bit since I got it yesterday and I am so addicted coming from a PS1 system.

I was reading an article today and in a small part of the article, the writer mentioned Furl. I never knew what it was, but after I read the short paragraph on it, it sparked my interest and I thought it would be cool to use.

So I signed up and I've been using it and I like it quite a bit. I'm sure a lot of people will say I can do the same thing furl does with my favorites folder etc.., but it's a little different.

Furl is a free service that saves a personal copy of any page you find on the Web, and lets you find it again instantly by searching your archive of pages. It's your Personal Web.

Furl offers the best ways to share the content you find on the Web, and recommends new Web pages that may interest you. You can also search Furl to find the best sites that other people are saving.

Furl is used for many purposes by many types of people. For travel planning. Recipe sharing. House-hunting. Medical research. Thousands of people use Furl every day to save, share and discover information that is important to them.

One thing I especially like besides being able to save pages which have interestiong info that I would like to read later without overloading my favorites, you can email the webpages. Say I go into Froogle and make a wish list for my birthday, I can FURL IT with the button I put in my links bar or the button in the Furl tolbar and email it to my family.

Anyway, try it out and see what you think.

mdeleon Can you DIGG this Jan 7th, 2005 6:40:47 pm - Subscribe
Digg is quickly becoming one of my favorite tech news websites. I found out about digg through the website of Kevin Rose, a segment producer on The Screensavers.

If you get your tech news from many different websites, digg is for you, especially if you like interactivity and being abl to submit news.

"Digg is a technology news website that gives editorial control back to the community. Most technology websites allow users to suggest content by submitting links or stories to an editor. If the editor believes the story to be relevant to the masses, he or she moves the story to the homepage. "

With digg, users also submit links for review. But rather than allowing an editor to decide which links go on the homepage, the users do.

How does digg work?
The user submits a story to a category. The story is then filed into the "dig" area of the selected category. Users on the site see the story, and several of them click "dig this story" and when each article gets +15 digs, due to its popularity, digg removes the story from the dig area, and promotes it to the home and category pages.

Give it a spin.

I've been keeping up with all theis MacWorld stuff since I'm a tech and Gadget geek. To have an iMac actually affordable ($499) is awesome. Also the iPod Shuffle is $99. No LCD, but still a good price for a nice MP3 player.

mdeleon Loss in Family Jan 18th, 2005 2:37:24 pm - Subscribe
For the past week or so, we were informed that my Grandma, who's been in Hospice for a few years went into a coma. Last night at about 11:30 p.m. I got a call from my brother who said our family in San Antonio called and said our grandmother would not make it through the night.

All three of us headed to San Antonio, but, unfortunately we were too late. We stayed there for a few hours and kind of said our "goodbyes."

Luckily, my grandma is now with my dad and my grandpa, and we have a ton of awesome memories of the time we had with her.
