mdeleon It's September - Subscribe
Like the title says, it's September, finally. Not that it's a great month, but that means Labor Day is coming up, which also means I am off of work that day (Monday).

I'll probably go to the San Marcos River, which I never got to do this summer and maybe barbeque.

Today went pretty well. Today, the main P.E. teacher, the one I work with was back so it was an easier day. We just played some football games with the kids all day. I normally get there early, but today I was running late and got there around 7:540 a.m.

I was really tired at first, but a mug of coffee took care of that and I was ready for the rest of the day. We should be getting our www,projectspurs.com forum up tonight so look at that and go check out the site if you haven't seen it yet.

mdeleon More Shopping Sep 6th, 2004 6:42:23 am - Subscribe
Well the other day I decided to do a lil more shopping, but for me. I needed some tennis shoes for work. I'm a P.E. Teacher/Aide at a middle school in San Marcos, and I needed a good pair of shoes. Besides that, all the boys I teach have better shoes than I do so I decided I need a change. After going to the Nike Outlet, I tried on about three pairs of black shoes, I wanted black for a reason and I liked how comfortable and how nice the Nike Air Hustle was. This is what it looks like:

They were like 50 bucks and I got a t-shirt and today I decided to buy some black Nike Hooptech shorts and some black socks. So now I have at least one complete, "nice" outfit for work, my kinda work at least.

I'm enjoying my weekend so far, they're having a festival in San Marcos this weekend that my brother's mariachi played at. I was there Friday and today, good music and good food. Tomorrow I'll be going into San Antonio to visit family for Labor Day and then back to work on Tuesday.

mdeleon Weekends are too short Sep 13th, 2004 4:34:09 pm - Subscribe
Well, this weekend was kinda ho-hum. I didn't do much at all. I just played some Madden on Saturday to get ready for NFL's opening day. I also did some stuff on my computer, some webdesign work, etc..

On Sunday I got up pretty late, but I was able to catch the Redskins-Bucaneers game before the game I've been waiting for, the Cowvoys vs. Vikings.

I was all hyped up because my Boys were doing so well in the first half before a dropped snap for a field goal and a fumble later in the game. The Vikes controlled the second half and went on to win, but they are a very good team offensively and defensively.

Well, Im here at work wishing it was still the weekend, I'm eating Ramen Noodles for lunch so I didn't have time to pack a lunch and I can't wait for the day to end. Just a few more hours. Well that's all for today.

mdeleon Nuke Em Sep 14th, 2004 9:05:47 pm - Subscribe
Today was a pretty good day. I woke up early, at 5:45 a.m. like usual, did my normal morning routine and got to the aprtment of the person I carpool with at about 6:25 and I left for work.

I got there around 6:45, let some kids in the gym to play basketball like I do every morning and listened to a cd I burned last night on my work computer. We played a pass and catch game called Nuke Em yesterday and so we played again today, so it was prety simple.

I was feeling pretty good and energized so I ran a few laps with the kids. We had Nachos for lunch, which were allright, but they always serve us kiddie portions.

It got kinda hot in the afternoon, but now it's raining and as I type on the work computer, the kids are going crazy right outside the office bc of the thunder and lightning, never heard such high-pitched shrills all at the same time.

Well, on my way home now, I'll get there at about 5:20 after I take two buses. I need some rest so I'll probably just chill out and watch The Screen Savers before I get on my comp and start working on web stuff. Write more later, I promise.

mdeleon Firefox 1.0 PR review Sep 16th, 2004 12:22:19 pm - Subscribe
The Mozilla Firefox 1.0 PR was released Tuesday. I downloaded it Tuesday and used it quite a bit since. I have tried a lot of other browsers, IE, Netscape, Opera, Avant, etc.. and I must say if any browser can come close to competing with IE, it's Firefox.Get Firefox!

I'm the kind of guy that browses several sites at once, ususally one window for my email, one for any kind of news site I am reading, a lot of times emoblog is in one of those windows and I always have CBS Sportsline's Photo Galleries open to check for new photos.

Firefox makes it easier for me with tabbed browsing, that feature alone made me a fan of Firefox. Instead of having a full taskbar already loaded with appz I am using at the time, I've got one browser open with anywhere from 2 to 5 tabs.

Another thing I like is the built in popup blocker and google search bar, all though I am a really big fan of the google toolbar I use on IE, I can even post to my blogger from it.

The Mozilla Dev team has also built some great extensions for Firefox, some of the ones I like are Bugmenot, IEView, Googlebar and others. I also like the download manager and how everything si automatically downloaded to the desktop, where I alwyas download to. Ther are some great download managers for IE out there like GetRight and Free Download Manager, but this one does not sit in my system tray or eat up resources. Firefox is also a very lite program, the download is very small and the browser itself takes very little space on your Hard Drive.

To find out more about Firefox 1.0 PR and all its features, visit http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ and help Firefox reach it's goal of 1,000,000 downloads in 10 days by visiting http://www.spreadfirefox.com/community/

I also recently downloaded Mozilla's email client, Thunderbird and I'll be trying it out soon.
