Finally got over that song of ours Stopped chasin' little red sports cars To check the license plates And I quit drivin' by your place Back makin' the rounds at our old haunts Honky-tonks, restaurants Seein' some of our old friends Feels good to dance again And I can finally smell your perfume And not look around the room for you And I can walk right by your picture in frame And not feel a thing but when I hear your name I feel rain Fallin' right outta the blue sky And it's the 5th of May And I'm right there starin' in your eyes And nothin's changed and we're still the same And I get lost in the innocence of a first kiss And I'm hangin' on to every word rollin' off your lips That's all it takes and I'm in that place Every time I hear your name Got someone special in my life Everyone thinks she'd make a great wife Dad says he thinks she's the one Reminds him of mom when she was young But it's way too soon to be talkin' about rings Don't want to rush into anything She's getting over someone too Kinda like me and you She talks about him every once in a while And I just nod my head and smile 'Cause I know exactly what she's goin' through Yeah, I've been there too When the conversation turns to you I get caught in a that you were the only one for me Kinda thought and your face is all that I see I know can't go back but I still go back And there we are parked down by the riverside And I'm in your arms about to make love for the first time That's all it takes and I'm in that place Every time I hear your name I start thinking 'bout the words I left unsaid I start tryin' to change the things I can't change In my heart I know you're gone But in my head I feel rain Fallin' right outta the blue sky And it's the 5th of May And I'm right there starin' in your eyes And that's all it takes and I'm in that place There we are parked down by the riverside And I'm in your arms about to make love for the first time And I can't explain but I'm in that place Every time I hear your name -keith anderson |

..for some reason, i cant type that word, nostalgia, for the life of me. i always have had a hard time spelling it... that is keenly ironic due to 2 facts. one, it is my second favorite word. two, it is one of my favorite records by my favorite band, july for kings. my favorite word in the english language is "mesh." the definition of that word defines me and it sounds cool. i love nostalgia because of what it means as well. it reminiscing about something in your past or in retrospect that brings back a pleasant, or bittersweet memory. i have many of those. in fact so many, i cant remember all of them. but the ones i do are just so pacifying... i hope that i never lose my mind to where i cant remember these times. thats my greatest fear. god willing, that wont happen. i am thankful to the lord that he has blessed so mant people with the gift of music. it blesses me in the most trying times and pacifies me in the times of joy. i can sit here at 4am and listen to my music and be so content and reflective and just ... at peace, in a world of such confusion and chaos/helter skelter. my all time favorite bands that you need to listen to: -july for kings (all time favorite) -augustana -butch walker -socialburn -ryan adams -northmont -goo goo dolls -dishwalla -strip the image -smalltown sleeper -radford -armor for sleep these bands are absolutely AMAZING. check them all out. my boy john robinson and i have been and still are talking over AIM and i really enjoy talking to him. we discuss JFK and just talk about they have touched us and helped us.. its nice to connect with another person in that way that is on the other side of the state. we played baseball together and grew up together. i love my boys from south east tennessee. may god bless them and give them all they aspire. long live southeast tennessee and the mighty mighty kings of july. back to talking to ozzie. |
