Well here's my introduction. On here I'm using the name MrsMummy for a little privacy. I'm 22 years old and live in Scotland with my husband, aged 34 and my daughter who is almost 3. At the moment I am 35 weeks pregnant and we're expecting another little lady to come and join us sometime around the start of December. To complete the family we have two dogs, jack russell terriers called Megan and Jasper. At the moment I'm not working, I'm on a gap year from studying while we've got baby on the way and hopefully I'll go back next year when baby is around 9mths old. I study Computer Aided Architectural Technology and eventually hope to become an architectural technologist. I thought I'd start a blog, partly to see what all the fuss is about, and partly because it'll be nice to read over it again later in time. If other people find it interesting to read or learn anything from it, brilliant, but I'm doing this for me. |

Todays big excitement was the growth scan. I've been big the whole way through this pregnancy so the midwife sent me along to the hospital today so they could find out why. I was checked for excess fluid round baby as well as a check on how big she is. Fluid levels were a bit higher than normal but nothing to worry about. Baby is currently around 6lbs 10oz, so bigger than average but not huge. They're estimating her birthweight at 40wks at around 9lbs. My last daughter seemed big at 7lbs 10oz so I'm a little shocked, but just glad she's healthy. So a combination of excess fluid AND a bigger baby is making me massive, but nothing to worry about at least. 32 days till I'm due. Speaking to the consultant on Wednesday to ask if they'll induce me either at 39wks or on my due date. I've had really severe SPD (it's a pregnancy related problem with the pelvis where the bones seperate, very painful!) Day to day activities have become very difficult or impossible, the housework is piling up and I'm really struggling to care for my daughter. Hopefully with the baby being such a good size they'll agree to an induction. |
