Toledo, Ohio Neighborhood Department has been notified that the mess is back again, why? Easy, no trash can. Why won't the city put trash cans at bus stops when the bus stops are on the city of Toledo property is a mystery, to me at least.

I have been contacting Solid Waste for almost a year about locations where the trash is spilled in the alley on the sidewalk, etc. And yet, to this day, the trash is still in the alleys and on the sidewalks. Why? Not enough money in the budget for enforcement and people according to the Toledo Solid Waste Manager. Sure, but what are the Foremen doing when riding around in the Jeeps? The latest stars of the trash world, all in the Old Polish neighborhood, Lagrange area, in Toledo Ohio. ![]()

With the recent dust up in Toledo about the trash collection rules, the alleys are relatively clean. A few alleys need attention as residents still have trash spilled on the ground and I have reported some. Even reported some that have not cleaned up trash spilled on the treeline or the sidewalk area in front of their house. How can people not care to pick up trash, I just do not understand. This is your city and you want trash in front of or near your house and because.....the city doesn't do anything....you put the trash there, pick it up. I suppose the next round of gripes will turn to the budget appropriations. Read some comments that Solid Waste is requesting more in the departments budget. Need to wait and see what the appropriations are before commenting further, but they know that I will continue to report the trash problems. |

Well, the trash at the bus stop on Central Ave. just continues to be dumped, week after week after week. Why? No trash can. City's answer to problem, clean up the trash. And the city reports budget problems. So why are we wasting man hours week after week after week to pay someone to go and clean up fast food wrappers when a trash can be placed there and remove the bag once a week and replace the bag. ![]() Another bus stop on Alexis Road is in the spot light now. This is just another reason/example of why we need trash cans at our bus stops. ![]() ![]() Too bad the city leaders don't get it. |

Sorry, it is Monday and while driving around over the weekend it became apparent that there is still too much of a trash problem in the city and I had my camera and made images. I have written to the Solid Waste Department about most of these sites and it is really frustrating to report them time and time again. Sure, I could just forget about it, but this is where I live and it does not have to be like this. And a side effect of the alley to curbside change has been; people are now storing bags of trash on the ground near or against their houses. Surely trash cans are not that expensive. Come on people, clean the mess up. Polonia Park off Dexter. Why would city residents want to use the park with it such a mess? ![]() ![]() Here is an alley that I can only imagine how many residents and city employees drive by and yet nothing is done. This mess has been present for over two weeks.
