before tidal waves
of rude awakening
here, where I am
where we lay
together
I can't sleep,
oh, nor rest at all
in this place -
in this bed -
and I shiver
cold where your skin
touched mine
I can't close my eyes
and I cannot breathe
alone where we lay
together.
what wouldn't I give
for your breath in my ear
and your arms around me
tonight.
