As I listen to Motorhead's "Traitor", it pretty much sums up my anger at Up-Front Group and Up-Front Agency for what they have done to Hello! Project.
In the first place, I hate the cutesy image that Minimoni started and spread through Hello! Project, but right now that is the least of my complaints.
I just saw one of the most ghastly sights I've seen in a long time: Ishikawa Rika on her back, spreading her legs on stage in what looked like something from a strip club. It makes me very glad Biyuden disbanded. Then again, given Rika's lack of talent and personality, I suppose such things are predictable.
Show business is a sick business. A few days ago I was lamenting the fact that Hello! Project appears doomed. Now I begin to think its end will be a net gain for the world, though it is sad that its end will hurt the careers of so many excellent performers.
My oft-asserted opinion that cutesiness and immaturity have brought about H!P's downfall now appears to be incorrect. It is the vulgarity- and worse still- vulgarity combined with childish imagery, a combination that appeals to dangerous deviancy, that has destroyed H!P.
Call it karma, divine justice or simply public indignation: The end of this terrible distortion of what was once a great supergroup is near, and though the baby will be thrown out with the bathwater, it is now obvious to me that Hello! Project is beyond and is not worth saving. |
