To all:

No remedial tomorrow as I have to carry out oral examination for Sec 1s.

Will be going through the oral examination tips and practice with you girls in class. The oral revision pack has already been uploaded in Moodle. It's in Winzip format as the scanned files are very big.

Next week, expect peer assessment for comprehension (mock exam) in class.

Dear all,

please access Moodle to find that I have uploaded 2 files. They are 1) a handout on summary skills and 2) answers to "Contextual clue" worksheet (a vocabulary worksheet given and gone through at the start of the term).

I'll be going through the summary skills notes in class but I'll not provide printed copies as you should be independent enough to print them by yourself. There are interactive practices mentioned in the handouts. Please go attempt them by yourselves.

In case some confused ones amongst you bright sparks are wondering which "Contextual Clue" worksheet I am referring to, let me jolt your memory... It is the set of handout on which I told you girls to copy a mindmap "Vocabulary: Contextual clues". There 6 ways to decipher the meaning of a difficult word and all are in the mind map. I hope this aids in retrieving some lost data from the deep forgotten recesses in your brain's dumping ground.

Dear

2D: Please remember to bring your set of notes for "Lamb to slaughter" next lesson. No homework but if you want to do sentence construction for the idioms, feel free to do them.

2E: No homework but if you want to do sentence construction for the idioms, feel free to do them. I will not be around for lessons on Monday. I'll set work for you to complete so please do your work silently in class.

2H: No homework but if you want to do sentence construction for the idioms, feel free to do them. I will not be around for lessons on Monday. I'll set work for you to complete so please do your work silently in class.

No remedial next Monday because I'll be on course.

The slides for suspense stories and global warming have been made available on Moodle. Do go and download them.

Many people (especially 2H) have handed in their suspense stories. Don't be so apathetic, hand in your work!

As you know, I've started a detention system. Don't force me to do things I dislike.

Dear...

2D:

Look for a suspense story (individual) for compilation into a class suspense story book. The next unit we are doing is "Suspense Stories". We'll finish up corrections for "Tattoos" comprehension, do the IN magazine and we'll be ready to move on!

2E:

Look for a suspense story (individual) for compilation into a class suspense story book. You girls still have corrections for the summary (Race Odyssey), comprehension (Tattoos) and IN magazine to trudge through before we commence on "Suspense Stories".

2H:

You are free to do what you like since you never want to participate in the activities I have in mind.

Everyone:

There is a comprehension (past year paper: Sec 2 Express SA1 2006) for you to do. I'll let it be an in class assignment so you have to do it in a stipulated time in class. Most probably we'll do it next week so I can mark it and return you girls.
